Leaving the siren (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by iliketea28
I just put in my two weeks notice; and it’s the greatest feeling in the world. After over 10 years on and off I’m leaving the siren. This 165**** is leaving for a better job, better hours, and better pay.

After all of the labor cuts, the union busting, the pandemic, the TikTok drinks, the endless mobile orders, the continuous product outages; I’m walking away from this company.

This company has given some of the best memories and life long friends, but it’s not the same company I came into years ago. I’ll miss my partners and some of the regulars I’ve come to know over the years but I won’t miss the bs that comes with the job.

For any of you young partners out there, my advice is this; this is job can be great and this job can be absolutely draining. Make sure to take care of yourselves first and leave once you feel are no longer valued as more than just a body on the floor. Know your worth.

Also started in your era, and it only took one trip back as a customer to know I'd managed to break away from a cult. There's no soul anymore. Unionize or quit, y'all.

It’s just draining now. Everyone is barely hanging on by a thread in my store. Literally 4 of us are leaving in the next few weeks. Says a lot about the company.
