What happens if you lose your keys? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by rocksrock43
Hey y’all, I’m a relatively new shift(since January) and I’ve never forgotten or lost me keys. I have them on an openable clip so I can remove the key for our back/front door when a barista needs it, and every night I take it out of the back door and either put it in my apron/pants pocket or right back on my keychain.

This weekend was extremely hectic and rough and so on Monday night, I put the back door key in my purse with the other keys with the intention of reattaching them that night, but school happened and it slipped my mind until today. I am very confident that the back door key is somewhere in my room, but I didn’t have time to find it before I had to leave. We have sore keys in the safe so I’m okay for tonight, but if I CAN’T find my key, what will happen? Will I get in huge trouble?

You won’t be in trouble, just embarrassed. Loss of keys happens all the time but let your SM know so they can order new keys and get the locks changed. It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last time.

One time our shift closed the store and accidentally took the store keys home with them, before immediately driving to the next state over that night not realizing they had the store keys in their bag. The next morning us openers realized the issue and last night’s supervisor had to drive 4 hrs back home and then back to the other state and it was honestly such a freak accident and no one got in trouble. I think you will be fine

I lost my store key for 6 months but never had to open (our store you could leave through the door even after it was locked) and I found it 6 months later under my car chair; dumb I know. Nothing ever happened to me during those 6 months. Probably a write up and maybe taken out if your check to get the store rekeyed, though I doubt it considering starbucks makes a billion dollars a second

I’m pretty sure it’s a write up. I’m not sure which type. It isn’t good, but unless you have other write ups you should be fine.
