minimum hours/week to keep insurance? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by boy_linda
I need another part-time job because starbucks isn't giving me the hours I need to get my life in order BUT I am in the middle of having a medical claim processed with my current insurance for top surgery, which has its own hurdles since trans health coverage isn't taken as seriously and insurance wants to get out of paying for it.

To keep benefits you need to work 20 hours a week

You have to work a total of 520 hours every 6 months. That equates to 20 hours a week, but the number of hours you work each week don’t matter as long as you hit the total by the audit dates every January 6 and July 6.

Starbucks has lowered the total to 450 for every audit since July 2020, but they have not said whether they’ll keep it lowered for this July.
