Tbh, ever since we got our new SM our hours have been so so bad. Originally we were told that it was because our stand-in SM gave us “too many” hours and she was going to just cut them a little bit. But now I too have been hearing the “earning our labor” reasoning. It’s been roughly two or three months now and i’m still only working 2 days/week and getting 9 hours/week and it’s getting very very frustrating to where I am about to leave.

A lot of it stems from SMs straight up ignoring budgets that corporate sent them and overscheduling and overhiring constantly. Basically a big enough number of people abused the freedom they had to schedule to what their stores needed that Starbucks decided to take the freedom away from everyone.

we just got renovated and apparently it cost so much money they had to reopen early with half of the stuff still unbuilt (im talking shelves not put together, a bench with outlets not having power, our window blinds not working), now we are “overstaffed” but they’re calling me asking me to come in early for my shifts and asking if i can come in tomorrow. we can’t “earn our labor” with 3 people on the floor while we are getting buttfucked by sunday afternoon traffic. it pisses me off

We can't stop talking about it until its fixed. Hours are less each week! Im scrambling to find daycare so I can fit the availability of the general work day since it seems Sbux's flexible schedules were indeed too good to be true 🥲
