Lol. Aerate (paper tear sound) 1 to 3 seconds for latte, etc. Or 8ish seconds for cappuccino according to standard. Then steam for remaining time until milk reaches temperature (extra hot, regular, warm). The machine will stop itself on auto but you can use manual if you are steaming to a specially requested temperature .
*side note: I tend to aerate my cappuccinos until temp reaches 100degrees and this is definitely more than eight seconds, but it tends to get better foam for the Starbucks version of cappuccinos (which are wildly different than a true Italian cappuccino)
