Can I sue? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by zeroxgukht
So wow a lot has happened since my last post in regards to a partner sexually harassing me and other partners. Not only was cocaine brought in etc. But I reported this situation back in late October, partner resources did nothing I’m assuming. I tried confiding once again in my shift supervisor and I was told they would open an anonymous report themselves, then I get a text from them saying how they had to use my name etc. I don’t really care I was planning on quitting. Then I asked my SM for their email and they also responded with “Just an FYI I contacted partner resources to get an update on the situation” probably to prevent me from resigning. So it seems like they have not done anything to address or investigate the situation. Which is really frustrating because I feel kinda of led on. But legally, what are my rights?

If you have proof that nothing is being done (screenshots, anything handwritten, etc) I presume yes. It’s an unsafe work environment (I didn’t see your prior post so unclear if the cocaine was a conversation subject or if actual drug was brought into the store so if it was brought in store, also add illegal drugs to it) that’s not being held and I’m pretty sure making you have to quit just to be safe is also illegal. I’d definitely consult with an attorney or someone who is more familiar with the law or maybe someone else in here will know better than me

I’m a recovering drug addict and in my statement I was very clear on I would have to quit to ensure my sobriety and the work I’ve accomplished

I think your best path in this situation is get a consultation from an actual lawyer
