How many hours would I get in spring/summer (may-aug) as a barista? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sapphirekomtrikru
Hi! So I actually have lots of prior barista experience. Once at a downtown coffee shop and my freshman year of college at our campus Starbucks. I’m a sophomore now so I’d def need refresher training but I’d remember rather quickly.

The store is open 5am-9pm and has dine in and drive through. I’d probably wanna work 7-3 or something like 4 days a week. The reason I want this location is because it’s up the street from my home and physical therapy.

That was a lot so I’m just wondering is it possible for a new hire to get like a good 30 hrs a week in the spring to summertime?

If you are trying to work 7-3 4 days a week probably not. That’s not a very common shift in any store I’ve worked.

It really depends on your location as every location will get different amounts of labor. In my experience, summertime is the slowest time of the year, I'm aware that might be different for other localities. 30 hours will probably not be attainable unless you cover extra hours at your own store or other stores in the district. I would bring it up in your interview and see what the SM says.
