policies on henna/mehndi? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by bad-idea-x100
i understand that starbucks doesn't really allow visible tattoos unless they're small (at least i think it's something along these lines, but feel free to correct me.) does anyone know if there are any policies on visible henna/mehndi - specifically, on the hands and arms?

starbucks allows tattoos as long as they’re not on your face or neck! so i would assume henna/mehndi would follow the same rules

depending on the sm i think neck tattoos can be allowed as long as they aren’t vulgar (I got a lightning bolt kinda on my neck/ behind my ear)

It’s face and throat that aren’t allowed now! Other parts of the neck are okay

So long as it’s kid friendly design go for it! The no tattoo rule was changed a while ago I think

We have a partner with multiple neck tattoos. No problem.

Hey I have a whole sleeve & it’s never been an issue. Starbucks is very lax about tattoos.

Lol well I’m about to find out, first day going back to work from my leave and I got henna done on my hand at my best friends wedding a week ago. I’ll tell you what happens

I had henna on my hands a couple times during work but my old manager said I couldn’t have it, but my new manager doesn’t mind it

I think the issue with henna (especially on the hands) would be that it could flake off and would pose a health risk similar to nail polish, which is against policy.

So it's only a problem when it's drying, not for the actual henna tattoo? /Gen

Starbucks is fine with tattoos as long as they're not offensive or on your face/neck. I don't know a lot about henna, but if there is the possibility of it flaking off in a similar manner to nail polish then they probably wouldn't allow it.
