Cut hours after calling out?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Katalyss9
Does anyone else's manger cut their hors on the next schedule anytime they call out sick? Myself and other partners at my store have noticed that our sm consistently does this. I've been out because I had the flu but even though I wasn't required to I got my shifts covered and she halved my hours on the next schedule. Does this fall under the no retaliation rule?

Is that not a form of retaliation? I would think it is, especially if she’s consistently doing it too

Unfortunately no. Retaliation is a protected category if things such as reporting an ethics violation or harassment. Calling in sick isn’t under that category. Since there are no protections for how many hours we get talking to your SM would be the first step on needing a minimum number. And talking to other partners to pick up shifts for the weeks you don’t have enough.
