I used blue scrub pads, hot water, and bleach. 😂 afterwards I cleaned it with soap and hot water
Loolander20 points1y ago
I used to put in some serious effort with the bleach and a scrubber as well, but if you get the foaming nozzle for the bleach, simple spraying and waiting will remove all the gunk. Same with the cold brew kegs, but I'd be careful to wash those out 5-6 times before putting them back into use once you clean them.

Can confirm foamy bleach + 5 minutes + scrub pad + Hobart makes this a 6 minute task 👌🏻

I thought you couldn’t use bleach on anything that touches food product? I might be wrong though

Yes we love a reliable source .

That’s a great idea! Thanks

The paste used to clean drains.
Edit to add: I don’t do that, but a shift at my store does.

There’s a paste? We just drench em in spirit
starbucksbarist286 points1y ago
It’s called liquid disinfectant, it’s amazing
thechamelioncircuit14 points1y ago
Rinsing between brews can significantly reduce this sort of buildup! We also run ours through the Hobart pretty often.
gabby246818 points1y ago
I’m always scared of what can and can’t go in Hobart
pumpqumpatch24 points1y ago
We literally put everything in there. That rubber part at the base of the blender that says “HAND WASH ONLY”? Hobart.
buzzy900010 points1y ago
>“HAND WASH ONLY”? Hobart.
Glad we're not the only ones 😂

Same.

The only limit is your imagination (and blenders technically, but that’s never stopped me.)
Electrical_Metal_1063 points1y ago
Also, everyone tells me differently. Some say this and that can’t go into it but others say they can etc.
Puddle_Duck885 points1y ago
This applies to most tasks. Everyone says something different. Oh and certain coworkers like to catch an attitude with you if you don’t do it their way even if you try to explain to them that you are doing it the way the store manager and 3 different ssv’s have instructed you to do it. And if you do it the way they tell you to then you’ll get chewed out for it later and they will just stand and watch without saying anything about how they told you to do it that way. That’s a huge part of why I put in job applications on my free time
Electrical_Metal_1063 points1y ago
There’s actually videos on the hub for how to clean and maintain everything. Too bad there’s never any time to watch the videos!
ooddeyee3 points1y ago
YES. Same thing at my store. We always fight if we can put acrylic or if it ruins it.
Electrical_Metal_1062 points1y ago
I say put it all in! If it gets ruined then get it replaced! Haha! (Just kidding)

Paris Hilton voice: "That's hot."
RubySapphireSage3 points1y ago
Once my coworkers were able to put urnex in sanitize water even though all our pumps get broken down and cleaned the build up spat everywhere and the pumps were so shiny -
Sassycamo392 points1y ago
I use two of the big pills for the espresso machine in a cube with hot water. Soak for 15 minutes and wipe it clean with a paper towel or rag. So much easier no hard work. Everyone work smarter not harder
existingasgubba1 points1y ago
We magic eraser our baskets then run them through the Hobart.

Ngl i would always use restroom cleaner on these and then rinse the hell out of them before using again. Looking back, it was probably bad but it’s what I did
