my store has had the automatic brewers for a few months now and i LOVE them. they're a bit of a hassle to clean (my store has three of them, we have to make 6 cubes of cold brew every day, so the disposal of grounds is HEFTY), but overall i think it's great & has made it easier to make sure that cold brew is done every day - we haven't run out of CB since we got used to them even with the short-staffing issues :)

I still call them toddy's and it's funny to see the newer baristas be like 'the what?' I kinda envy them, they'll never know the pain of accidentally pouring water in the wrong spot and ruining the whole thing 😔

Pain in the Ass to clean

Make sure you keep those buckets under there, when the time is up that cold brew drops, bucket or not.
Get use to partners forgetting the filter. And or the filter ripping. Good luck.

A glorified timer set inside a jenga tower just waiting to be knocked over. Also takes up way to much space.

They took out the step of pulling it into cubes so we don't have to worry about it brewing too long.

But they added so many new parts to clean that it's a hassle and I honestly miss the toddys. I will agree it's easier to put the bag in and not rip it though.

At my licensed store, we have to keep it in our cramped storage room thats behind another department, im not looking forward to have to transport water and cold brew grounds to and from.

The cleaning process sounds the worst part of it though.

I just hope the convenience that Starbucks claims it'll be, would be worth it.

I think its nice that they automatically pull the cold brew when it is ready but I hate the cleaning part about it. I think its annoying because there are extra pieces to clean, but its nice

From what I've heard..... I'm glad we don't have 'em. Heard when they break it's a big Ole pain in the ass. Our manager also mentioned that the company doesn't have enough replacement parts so they kept some to salvage parts from.

Does one hold the equivalent of a toddy? We sometimes make 6 toddies a day and I have questions about where we’re going to put these…

They are super easy to use and to clean. Put them in the Hobart. The only thing we’ve has issue with is when the cubes get cracked and you don’t realize. Leaks all over the floor.

i like that it pulls it for me, but i don’t like that i need to bring 28 L of water to the back room in 8 pitchers every time i brew 2 batches. i also don’t like how difficult it is to clean. but the convenience of having a cube pre-pulled in the morning is nice

Works like a charm when the right amount of water is inside. Some partners i worry about them😵‍💫
