Calling off rant (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Downtown0317
It’s so stupid that calling off for mental health days/sick days is so wrong. I called off for today, texted yesterday in the group chat to see if anyone could take it. Why when I call do I get talked down too, “we’re gonna short staffed today” okay? That’s on you and the sm to figure out. Why when I come in the next day to get shitted in for taking a sick day? “Was it worth leaving us short handed” this probably as a joke, but then why is the sm doing anything to help? I’ve worked here for almost a year now and I’ve called off a total off three times, and get completely rude comments about it.

I feel like I just needed to rant

Honestly I would give a f. If they wanna be negative or bitchy about it. That’s on them. You can’t always find someone else to cover your shift and in my opinion that’s not your job to if you really need the day off. Sometimes we need it, especially where we work at.

This is why managers should schedule an “extra” person. So if one person calls out it’s not “short staffed”

Transfer to a different store, many partners forget they can transfer to other stores rather than quit..

Now, I would’ve clapped back and said “im just a barista, not management” and “YES it was worth the day off😊” but then again thats how I would’ve talked to them
