Idk about your market but I have a technician that comes in every three months that gets it clean but we do it during clean plays as well.

my stores ice machine is so clean….cuz we follow the directions and schedule during clean play. the resources are already there, so i don’t know what to tell you other than to look in the store resources app.

Our on-bar ice bins get taken down and cleaned daily, and our ice machine gets cleaned every clean play. If stores followed regular protocols about cleanliness none of this would be an issue for anyone sadly

The big one in the back? We clean it monthly and I’ve never seen mold. That’s super gross.

I feel so lucky to work at a store where cleaning is taken seriously. We wash our ice bins every single day. Seriously, I gripe about the amount of work I do as a closing SSV but stuff like this puts it in perspective

These comments are so wierd to me, at my store if we get anything in any of the ice bins they have to be taken out and cleaned immediately, the big ice machine is cleaned pretty often too 😬

Why dont you just report the store ? Or tell your DM? Call, the health department. Anything is better than doing nothing about it.

we also found what seemed like black mold on the sides of our ice bin. This is what happens when you cut labor to pad your CEO’s already fat paycheck, corporate 🤪

We literally clean ours every couple hours with hot af water so it doesn’t mold

same thing happened at my store. we haven’t had a clean play since ive been here. ….ive been here since september. our clean play was canceled due to unknown reasons

the ice bin ideally needs cleaned twice a day, but definitely once at night every day. takes me like 5 minutes to get all the mold off. because of all the water its very very hard for there to not be mold, but daily cleaning makes it much better.

If it makes you feel any better....my last store had mold in the ice machine!!!!! And when I asked the last time it was cleaned for clean play the response was ..."what's clean play" and oh we haven't cleaned this since we got it.... 😭🤮

Same thing is happening at my store lol manager hasn’t scheduled a clean play in about 3 months and before that it was over a year since we had one… gross.

We clean ours AT LEAST once a month! Like, completely emptying it out and sanitizing the whole thing according to the manual. It’s part of clean play!!!

Sadly that happens a lot at my store, I appears to be the only one that cares, but I'm allergic to mold so I can't clean it. Just smelling it upsets my stomach.

it’s weird I come across this because my shift last night, she was doing the pull and there was a dead cockroach on one of the pastry trays…. she texted my SM and never got anything back..

I cant even begin to tell u how many times ive found black mold inside of the ice cubes when i was in the middle of making a customers drink and i go show it to my manager and she goes "throw that ice out and just rinse the ice scooper". Idk if she meant rinse it thru the hobart or just under some sink water but ice showed it to her on so many different occasions and to my shift and none of em did anything about it
