Considering Leaving… (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ieatpie888
My one year is at the end of the month and I am so burnt out it hurts- my body and my brain just feel so numb and dead. To give context, I work 35-40 hours a week and open every day I work on a college campus and our drive thru is stupid long my entire shift. No matter how much I work or how much effort I put in, there is always the “well get drive times down” or “upsell food this morning” and I never seem to be able to catch a break to actually enjoy the job that I thought I loved in the beginning. If you have left and found something better, how is it? How long is the turnover to start enjoying things outside of work again and do you like or love your new job?

I agree with the no drive through option. That might be a nice change of pace to switch to a new store with only walk ins and mobiles

Change is good. Sometimes it's time for a new set of problems.

Try by first taking some times off and go back to it maybe try reducing hours something so you’re not getting burn out. If a free trying to reduce time off and or taking time off you still feel burn out find a new job it’s not worth your mental health. It can also help to find another store w/out a drive thru as those stores have more pressure on times then one with just a cafe
