got told today after being promised shift training for two months (we've actually talked about it all the way back in december but ive been strung along since february) that i'm no longer going to be promoted bc the new dm actually decided to cut back on the number of shifts from our store from 8 to 6 (and we currently have 7) so i finally had a good enough reason to put my two weeks in 🥰

i cant wait to paint my nails

edit: omg ignore my typo in the title i was just so excited lmao

I relate to this way too much. I’m a shift now, but only after about a year of being “promoted” and finally getting trained, while I watched others that haven’t been there long at all fly right past me ( I knew damn well I deserved the promotion too) it really sucks I know how it feels. Getting your nails painted sounds wayyyy better. Sucks that this is the only place in my town that provides even close to livable pay (only with a roomate though). move on to better things fr

yeahhh someone got hired as a shift right after i got this alleged promotion and they had no prior experience so that really sucked :'] fortunately i had another job with the same pay as being a barista, i only stayed bc i was supposed to get a $4 raise

I’ve read about similar stories on Reddit about this and a lot of other things we go through. It truly is a shame. Good luck! Someone will appreciate your hard work!
