When are bathrooms supposed to get cleaned?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by mekayla96
I’m usually a morning/mid shift person and I’ve noticed the bathrooms are literally always disgusting. I had to take time out of my spot at warming today to clean one because it was bothering me so much. I haven’t been here long so I’m wondering who is supposed to clean them and when because whoever is supposed to be at my store literally isn’t lol. And if it’s support then I wanna know for the next time I’m on support.

part of the customer support cycle is supposed to be to spot clean the bathrooms, with the closers being the ones to mop and everything at the end of the day
personally when i'm on CS it totally skips my mind because i'm always caught up in everything else CS has to do, so i'm guilty of letting the bathroom get a little behind before i get to it 🥴

I feel like it should be a closing job but idk. Like literally today the trash wasn’t even taken out 🙄

the closers should make sure that the bathroom is set to go, and i'm pretty sure all trashes are supposed to be taken out every night regardless

trash is not supposed to be taken out at night. we are not supposed to work outside in the dark due to safety reasons. it is a day task, so you can do it on your day shift when it is safer with daylight. Bathrooms are an as needed cleaning task. meaning you spot clean as needed (TP restock, flush toilet, trashes, trash on ground) and when deeper cleaning is needed (like scrubbing toilets, mirrors, sinks, mopping) it is a task that anyone and everyone can be assigned to by a ssv

Yeah for sure the trash. Literally our cafe trash was overflowing when I came in.

i feel like it depends on the store - we drop down to two baristas and one shift at my store anywhere between 3-5pm so we ask the mid shift to do floors/bathrooms since that’s when it’s the slowest, more people on the floor than closing, and too early to start some of the closing tasks.

Look at your clean safe ready cards. There is a time set for when bathrooms should be throughly cleaned. Throughout the day customer support spot clean and closers spot clean and mop.

It's on the daily customer support cards.
Spot clean every 4 hours when sanitizing the high touch surfaces in the lobby (or when needed). And then deep clean toilets, sinks, floors, and door jams on the 2p - 4p "customer area" card.
