Yeah it depends on your store because I’m pretty sure we technically aren’t allowed to take them home, but all my shifts let people take what they want

We usually donate it all at my store but if anyone wants it they can just take it also I think they just throw it away when we donate it

We used to have a sweet old lady who picked donations up for meals on wheels. She told me they toss half of it because it sits in a warehouse for a while. Now the delivery guys pick it up.

Officially we're not allowed to take it. It gets donated or tossed. Unofficially if expired things happen to go home with partners or get left in the lockers for the morning crew .. who can tell?

I hate how much food gets trashed every day. Definitely glad our shifts let us take things that can't be sold! My store hasn't donated anything since the pandemic started.

We always ask if pastry case or teas/iced coffees are desired by anyone at the end of the night. Low waste is the best way 👌

Yep! Technically, the Bux considers it “stealing” but our SSV and managers encourage us to take things home that we can’t donate.

when is the expiration date after the “expiration date”

My delivery driver told me it’s 3 days after they pick it up to be eaten at the food bank

The people we donate to never pick up so our shifts let us take home

Yes because the people that are supposed to come pick up our donations straight up told us “we don’t donate it we just throw it away you can stop making bags” so we don’t make bags anymore
