7 weekly food markout debate is finally settled! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by happybowlita83
This weeks weekly update states we still do have the 7 weekly marlouts available along with a new way to track our markouts!
[deleted] 35 points 1y ago
I’ll have to read it when I go to work tomorrow. Does it also clear up whether or not we can use our remaining food markouts all on the same day? My store has told me I can’t but this subreddit says otherwise
happybowlita83 [OP] 37 points 1y ago
It doesn't say there's a limit per day, just that you have 7 available for the week for you to use as you please only new thing is you can check how many you've used for the week
happybowlita83 [OP] 20 points 1y ago
I guess it's an official benefit from here on out
csaine 5 points 1y ago
How do you check?
happybowlita83 [OP] 1 points 1y ago
The weekly update or the mark out report?
cookiemonstah87 13 points 1y ago
I've been curious about this too. I tried to markout two items at once after seeing everyone here say it's 7 per week (no one at my store seems to know or care one way or the other) but I don't work every day and don't like going to my workplace on my days off.

Anyway, I tried to markout a protein box and a panini at the same time, and the register gave me an error message, something about "this partner has reached the maximum number of markouts for the day." I would say maybe I had already done 7 for the week and didn't realize, but I've never done more than one per shift so that's not even possible.
happybowlita83 [OP] 45 points 1y ago
I think you have to do it as seperate transactions, that's the way I've been doing it because you can't mark out 2 food items in 1 transaction.
cookiemonstah87 5 points 1y ago
Ohhh, interesting! I'll have to try that next time I'm in
astivana 7 points 1y ago
Yeah even when they changed it to seven per week, they didn’t change any of the programming to account for it. But I guess it’s like drinks where you can only mark out one per order but you can make as many orders with markouts as is legal.
Responsible_Snow7109 3 points 1y ago
Yep yep! This is true. It has to be separate transactions but u can definitely do a couple in a day or all of em in one day if u wait til the last day that ur working of that week
Vosstonmass1 3 points 1y ago
This is the answer
Thee_Lizard_Head 7 points 1y ago
You can wait the entire week and do all 7 on your last shift. It just has to be 7 separate transactions since you can only do one food markout per transaction.
[deleted] 7 points 1y ago
See that's what I thought too. I did it once and my SSV pulled me aside and said I wasn't allowed to do that and I could get the cashier in trouble
happybowlita83 [OP] 5 points 1y ago
Smh my SM just did it for me last week 4 markouts at the end of my shifts all in seperate transactions.
[deleted] 3 points 1y ago
I was so sad that they told me no because I live for the grilled cheeses lol
1PinkPanda 1 points 1y ago
Yup same
Any-Area8729 18 points 1y ago
I wish they'd let you use at other stores like before
cookiemonstah87 7 points 1y ago
Same! I have to drive to get to my store, but there's a new one within walking distance!
heytherecomputer 3 points 1y ago
I seriously don’t understand why it’s an issue for Starbucks to allow that. It doesn’t make any sense.
imathrowayslc 3 points 1y ago
ASM and SM partner numbers are public (they are their email address on the business card in the lobby). Corporate claimed there were lots of "unauthorized" mark outs at other stores.
socalsailor027 1 points 1y ago
That it sell is dumb. I worked at target and we all had first.last@target.com idk why they do numbers
emileeavi 10 points 1y ago
I worked at a Starbucks inside a grocery store and my Starbucks department manager was SO cool. She'd let us make ourselves drinks, and she even let us take the "expired" sandwiches/pastries instead of throwing them away lmfao, even at the end of the day when we were supposed to throw out the pastries in the case she let us take what we wanted and she let us give away the left over ones to the workers in the store lmao
imathrowayslc 8 points 1y ago
At all the stores I worked at the rule was "Leave at least something in the yellow bag so it doesn't look like we took it all home" for expired pastries and sandwiches.
Alan_Man22 5 points 1y ago
So I’m lost 😅 barista here at Starbies.
Do we get the mark outs only the days we work or any day of the week we don’t work?
happybowlita83 [OP] 4 points 1y ago
I believe it has to be the days you work.
Responsible_Snow7109 2 points 1y ago
Only can be marked out on days that u work but u can take home more than one food item per day that u work just as long as it equals out to 7 at the end of the week.
liansu_ 5 points 1y ago
Does anyone know how to check the remaining ones? I lose track 😂
calimac90 2 points 1y ago
It’s under custom reports within POS. It was in this week’s weekly update :)
meeeganthevegan 4 points 1y ago
I'm so happy it was extended!
happybowlita83 [OP] 5 points 1y ago
It's apparently a permanent benefit!
meeeganthevegan 1 points 1y ago
It said any changes will be announced in October! Maybe I just read that wrong.
happybowlita83 [OP] 3 points 1y ago
I think it said that on the partner hub changes of the benefits won't be reflected until October. So I think it'll officially be posted online in October, unless I'm the one that read wrong lol
BatWeary 3 points 1y ago
i’m so happy we finally have a way to track. i always forget how many markouts i’ve used, and getting in trouble over a couple extra markouts just isn’t worth it.
Loose_Bumblebee 1 points 10m ago
how do i track mine lol
BatWeary 1 points 10m ago
You log into the POS, go to ‘custom reports’ and I think there should be a button that says markouts.
thebestdaysofmyflerm 2 points 1y ago
How do you check?
Jaded_Fun_7133 5 points 1y ago
Clock in on the pos and go to functions > custom reports > mark outs
Brownbaristahh 2 points 1y ago
How can we check it?
happybowlita83 [OP] 5 points 1y ago
On the POS, it'll be a new report button
Necessary_Low939 1 points 1y ago
My store doesn’t allow me
happybowlita83 [OP] 1 points 1y ago
Why?
Necessary_Low939 1 points 1y ago
Just say that’s not the policy sigh. Whatever. I was about to get my ass written up
happybowlita83 [OP] 1 points 1y ago
I would just show them the weekly update of any action is taken against you I'd take ot to the DM or partner resources st this point. They'd now be denying you of a a sbux benefit, they can't tell you that you can't use your discount or partner beverage markouts they can't deny you of this benefit just because the SM feels like it.
Necessary_Low939 1 points 1y ago
I did, literally highlighted it, boxed it, u name it 😑
ventiflatwhite 1 points 1y ago
So is it a total of 7 plus your daily food mark out while you work?
happybowlita83 [OP] 3 points 1y ago
Total of 7 all together, if you work 3 days you still get 7 total if you work 5 days you also have 7 available for the week.
mekayla96 1 points 1y ago
How do you see the weekly updates?
Responsible_Snow7109 1 points 1y ago
Well at my store we have papers stapled into a packet on our main counter with the store tablets and on those papers is all about the weekly updates. Ask ur shift or SM wen u go in and they should give it to u to read
