is it normal to get like one to two shifts a week? my bourse have been like this for awhile and it’s frustrating being on the short end of the stick. ive changed my availability, ive even talked to my manager and she always tells me the same thing, “once your hours on the schedule there’s nothing i can do about it”. She’s also suggested that i just look for coverage at other stores. why can i not just work at my own store i don’t understand. i need hours too, i have responsibilities and things i’m required to pay for. what should i do? :(

If you’re newer, as in 4 months or less then yeah unfortunately it may be like that. they need a lot of employees that way they’re never searching for coverage so unfortunately some employees get less hour because they only have a certain amount to give. It sucks!

I would definitely start looking for shifts at other stores. Once my manager knew I was interested in doing that she’d ask me whenever a store reached out for coverage.

Having a similar experience. I was only there for a little over a month. I got good hours at first. 20 a week at the least and then we got a new manager and she cut me to 4.5 hours a week. I had to quit and get a new job without a two week notice because I can’t afford to be without money and waste a day of work at 4.5 hours
