New Covid Procedures (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by musically_shifted
So, just got back in town and caught covid on a trip (I’m stupid asf for it). Took an at home test and tested positive while having symptoms, but apparently I still have to go in if I don’t get tested at a pharmacy??? I don’t feel like I can morally do that. Soonest I can get in is barely 2 hours before my shift. What am I supposed to do??? I feel like it’s a bit silly to go in if I’m hacking up a lung and dizzy.

If you get in trouble for calling out sick, when you are sick, call partner resources. This is why we have protected sick hours we can use to help cover being sick. I believe they do need an actual pharmacy test result to qualify for the covid pay while you are isolating.

I’m planning to get tested in the morning. Thank you for easing my nerves.

you can’t rlly get in trouble for calling out if you have sick time.

unless it’s a pattern & you’ve missed a certain percentage of your shifts

As far as my store is concerned, home tests are still valid and you still have to quarantine for 5 days. You may only return to work so long as you don't have a fever w/o the help of meds and you wear a mask.

Not true. Upload your status here…https://starbucksv.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0w73RSh2id8lrca. You need to isolate.

You legally cannot work with certain illnesses at ALL. I don’t know what state your in, but in the state I live in, having the sh!ya means you legally can’t work, and you are legally protected to call out SICK in general, can’t be fired for it

I'm in Ontario but I'm pretty sure the isolation policy would be the same. You need to isolate for 5 days and then wear a mask at work for about 5 days after. Rapid tests aren't as reliable, but if you get a positive one AND you have symptoms you shouldn't go. If you're being told to you should probably report that.

i also tested positive form and at home test, i called my store and told them about the home tests and they walked me through the covid coach. you should be isolated for 5 days and then after you return you have to wear a mask for 5 more days. but i’m pretty sure you don’t have to get one from a pharmacy.
