New Barista Trainer Advice?? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hi there! New Barista trainer here! Well, at least I think so?
Long story short, my store is closed for a month bc we’re having a big renovation. Over this next month, everyone has been sent to other stores for training pods. And I guess I’m now training one of my coworkers? I haven’t really been given much info other than where to find the training plans & the barista basics.
I guess I just don’t really feel confident cuz I’ve only been working for Starbucks since November. I wasn’t really trained the bessssttt due to the fact that the holidays are literally insane, so idk. I feel like I’m gonna do horrible bc I have no idea what I’m doing :((((
If anyone could give me some advice that would be so very appreciated!

Make sure that the info you’re giving is correct, especially how to make drinks. You can always look up the recipe cards on the computer or iPad if you have them. Also, I think it’s great to explain the ‘why’ when it comes to certain tasks or ways of doing things. Helps explain the importance of doing things correctly and also helps them remember. For example you can say “we shake teas and refreshers because ___”. Hope that makes sense!
