this is a result of my biggest pet peeve. people just throw around these pumps and barely clean them (from my experience). and then when they do clean them and maybe actually take them apart and put them back together people don’t screw all the parts on to be tight and secure and this happens. TLDR: make sure the top and the nut for the spout are screwed on tightly before use.

OMG.. THIS EVERY FREAKING MORNING. I don't think anyone in my store knows how to put pumps together properly🤦 When I'm setting up, I feel like I have some OCD fixation because as I'm starting the mastrenas' through their auto-calibration I'm tightening all the nuts and tops on the pumps.

It screws back on ...
StormTheParade14 points1y ago
replaceable caps! You should be able to screw it back in.
I don't know if they still do it but every year my store used to get a brand new cap thing for pumpkin spice with our first shipment of the sauce
Chaotic_Cat_Boi [OP]5 points1y ago
Yeah there is no screw inside the cap or the thing it went on but it looks like it should screw lol

It screws back on. When you disassemble the pump, you’ll have the spring, the black thing the spring slides on has the screw at the top. Check the hub. It’ll show you how to reassemble them.

It literally didnt have a screw lol I've done it before on clean play my guess is it got lost in the tube
aspoonfulofsammy114 points1y ago
The part that screws on is inside the tube. It’s all a spring-loaded system. Imagine a clicky ballpoint pen. It’s kinda like that.
mxs42351 points1y ago
Welp whoever assembled it, did you wrong. Pretty sure if assembled properly the screw doesn’t unload into the tube. 😅
graylikesoap1 points1y ago
there is a screw thing inside the pump you have to unscrew the larger bolt at the base and push down so it pokes through the top
mewwissa8 points1y ago
They do screw back on…but you gotta pretty much take the pump apart and clean it. I hated when people don’t tighten everything back up after cleaning, or when they notice it getting loose on the bar 😩
drinkliquidclocks4 points1y ago
Do y’all not take them apart to clean them…
dylanbroomee3 points1y ago
it looks like the threads broke off into the cap—this has happened to a couple of the pumps at my store as well 😭
deadboydrumming3 points1y ago
OUR WHITE MOCHA DID THIS ON SATURDAY
Jena8765431 points1y ago
For all baristas out there If you are not fully confident in reassembly then just don’t you can clean it fine without taking it apart every time and it saves me the annoyance of either wasting a few minute washing, disassembling, checking, and reassembling pump right after we fill it.
Hilbabe421 points1y ago
Ugh, I hate when that happens. We had one of those actually strip to the point it wouldn’t screw back onto the plunger anymore and we had to use a backup and order a new one.
changbinsomnia1 points1y ago
i hate when this happens lol. too many times a shift
darkwolf5231 points1y ago
Rip OP. But just like others mentioned, just take it off and twist it back on
