Gas leak and Mobiles (self.starbucksbaristas)

So today my store had a very small gas leak outside. We shut down so that the fire department could come look, and because it was right around hand-off, we were all waiting outside while they were making sure it was safe.
While we are outside, a lady comes by and says “why are you closed?” I replied that we had a small facilities issue and had to close for a short period of time, but boy was she mad. This woman started giving me attitude because she needed her mobile order. It came through right as we evacuated the building and before my manager was able to turn them off.
“This is terrible service, can you go grab it for me?”
Like no. There are firefighters currently in our store. I’m not putting my life in danger to get your damn coffee. What the f-
She ended up giving us a bunch of attitude and then left. What is wrong with people? Why are our customers like this? I have no hope for people like that woman.
Starbucks workers are humans and we should not have to work in unsafe conditions to make your coffee.

I used to work at a store that was attached to a gas station (it was a corporate store, just happened to be in the same building as a gas station) but anyway we had a gas leak right next to our cold bar fridge so we had to evacuate and the fire department came and people were walking PAST the firetruck and saw everyone on the sidewalk and still had the audacity to ask us to take their order- not even give them a mobile. Take their order then prep it for them. Like… what?

We had fire alarms going off one time (because of a building wide drill) and people just didn't seem to be phased at all. Sorry its hard to serve people when I have to scream to be heard over the alarm. Im convinced even if I was on fire they would still try to order

Our delivery guy accidentally tapped our fire alarm with some boxes one time and this same thing happened. It was a Sunday and the after church groups were mad because they “couldn’t hear anything over that”

one time my stores ceiling was lit rally LEAKING (we had a spa above us) and multiple parts were leaking, lights were leaking it was not safe so we evacuated and i kid you not, at LEAST 7 people were actually annoyed we weren’t open and making drinks while our ceiling was leaking RUST from pipes
