i’m gonna guess a whopping $0.00
mrbubblegxm [OP]17 points1y ago
yup!
szn2episode329 points1y ago
i’ve never seen anyone order a strawberry acai and tip TBH🤨
vinylcollector2436 points1y ago
imma guess nothing lol
rainy-gray30 points1y ago
I obviously like getting tips but I can't blame most of our customers for not tipping. Starbucks is so expensive. I can't imagine spending $7 on coffee every day and also tipping. Maybe if it's $1 a week but if I were a customer I wouldn't tip.
royalscandal18 points1y ago
Starbucks is a luxury, not a necessity. They don't HAVE to spend so much on overpriced coffee.
CommanderWar644 points1y ago
I agree, but also why do some people come everyday for a refresher or frapp? Lol
megamartinicus15 points1y ago
I came to say this, as an employee and a customer I'm not expecting tips at all
SnooChipmunks3967 points1y ago
Same, we don’t live off of tips, i would much rather someone save their tip for a server who needs it
PyroTracer6 points1y ago
My rule for going out to eat or to a place like Starbucks where I can tip is this: If I don't have enough money for a tip, I don't have enough money to be purchasing anything there.
bringitonlife-1 points1y ago
Honestly I wouldn’t tip at a Starbucks because most of the drinks are things I can’t make at home. But I most definitely can make food at home and if I couldn’t tip, I wouldn’t eat out.
PyroTracer1 points1y ago
How does that determine who does and doesn't deserve a tip?
bringitonlife0 points1y ago
Because we still get paid a minimum wage every hour. Serving jobs make $2 an hour and rely on tips to survive.

I work at Starbucks and have made an effort to pull myself out of the mentality that I deserve a tip for doing my job. It’s an ongoing process as well. The stance I’ve held was that server workers deserve tips more than we do because we at least get paid a stable and ongoing wage. I’m not dismissing how tips can be beneficial, don’t worry.
aspiringgrandpa1 points1y ago
if you’re getting starbucks every day, you can definitely afford to tip.
lilpears28 points1y ago
this is the order i get when i'm the only closer and there's 15 minutes left until we close 😭😭😭
Eastern_Effective_491 points1y ago
Omg
Necessary_Low93915 points1y ago
Probably nothing.
cihg10 points1y ago
$0. But also, why do you have three in each tray instead of four?
natalie_____23 points1y ago
it might be because it’ll be easier than two carriers with 4 and then just one left over
mrbubblegxm [OP]5 points1y ago
she asked for it like that so she could carry at to her car. i was lowkey impressed
Kayp222968 points1y ago
Their change ✨
ebac72 points1y ago
This is funnier if they paid with card/app.
Meggilli916 points1y ago
Why didn’t you shake these? It’s obvious, unless they specially asked for inclusions to be placed on top
chelsthegrinch7 points1y ago
Yea I wouldn’t tip either if none of my refreshers got shaken
Mysterious_Funny_9256 points1y ago
What's the customization
Business_Custard70568 points1y ago
Looks like it says extra water
Loh-Doh43 points1y ago
Imagine drinking a SAR and saying "Jeez, this is nice. You know what this could use? Less flavor."
CommanderWar647 points1y ago
I like them with more water, it’s like strawberry water, less sweet too!
ZzalFfz8cQgZoFXdqSNS5 points1y ago
More refresh
Water-is-h2o3 points1y ago
Don’t have to imagine lol
vinylcollector243 points1y ago
oh haha i thought they meant what are they covering up 😂
Business_Custard70569 points1y ago
🤣 the forbidden customization
vinylcollector246 points1y ago
i think they’re hiding the time and location but i’m not too sure
Nastybeerlight4 points1y ago
They don’t need to tip
mrbubblegxm [OP]-2 points1y ago
it’s not they NEED to tip. it’s just the polite thing to do for big orders.
Available_Motor59803 points1y ago
No, it’s not. It’s generous maybe, but fast food workers should not be expecting tips, even for large orders. I worked for another popular chain where we would regularly handle orders over $500 and no tip, not that we expected one. Criticizing someone for not tipping when Starbucks is already making something like a 400% profit margin on their drinks is ridiculous.
Nastybeerlight0 points1y ago
It’s not that big an order, idk Tipping culture/expectations really have been getting out of hand lately. I kkow what u mean I used to work all kinds of fast food and i never expected someone to tip us, even when I helped with catering orders. I only tip servers tbh, I know for a fact they’re getting paid wayyyy less than they should be and their pay depends on tips, starbucks pays a decent wage. (Yes we’re all chronically underpaid in the country, but that’s exactly it, it’s not up to other underpaid people to compensate)
Sickoflike22474 points1y ago
I’m a Starbucks worker and the difference between us and waiters/bartenders is we don’t solely rely on tips to make money. I wouldn’t use the same mindset approaching a Starbucks as I would a restaurant.
mewwissa4 points1y ago
Zero and then they asked you for six waters at the bar 🤣
boxfun4 points1y ago
In this circumstance do you guys really shake them or hell no ?😅
pink_haired_bitch7 points1y ago
None of those are shaken sadly. They taste so much better when they are
packers15037 points1y ago
And this is why Starbucks gets a bad rap.
Tania12905 points1y ago
I use the shaker lids on grandes, directly on the cup. They fit perfectly! It only works for grandes, don’t try it on venti cups! You would think they are the same size since they both use the same lid but they aren’t.
Realistic_Dreams3333 points1y ago
The carriers honestly are throwing me so off lol
SkyyyyHigh4203 points1y ago
It was kids too probably
seriouslystresseddd2 points1y ago
If every customer (roughly 900+ per day) we saw tipped .25 cents it would add an additional $105 to my weekly take home. You don’t HAVE to tip. But the baristas you are asking to modify your beverage, 8 or so times, will appreciate the extra motivation to make a great beverage.
miss__nomer2 points1y ago
Wrong answers only?
$100, 10 for each drink, plus 10 for excellent service.
GeneralSparklezz1 points1y ago
0 because Starbucks tells customers to treat us like we’re not human
Livid_Resolution_6311 points1y ago
0!
West-Priority-53951 points1y ago
this reminds me of the person who ordered 11 BS shaken espressos and didn’t tip
Doggo-01 points1y ago
someone from my store always does that EVERY WEEK 🥲 always have to have extra ppl on bar during that day
sneakyminder1231 points1y ago
Why does it matter if they tip??? I don't work at starbucks anymore but I didn't expect tips at all... esp with people paying with cards or on the mobile app where only on some cases you get a prompt for a tip. Wouldn't it be better to be paid more and not expect customers to pay you instead

Starbucks needs to start using tablets to take orders. A local competing coffee shop does this and it is a very well oiled machine.
They have two drive throughs going simultaneously, it's drive through only, probably a 1/4 the size of an average store.
If the lines get busy, employees will walk up to customers to get orders in advance on the tablet.
But the real beauty of the tablet is they hand it to the customer where they can then enter a tip if desired.
Every Starbucks I've been to recently asks the customer if they want their receipt. Nobody wants to go through the hassle of signing a tiny slip of paper and adding a tip that way.

a couple weekends ago a bus full of people came into the cafe, all ordered separately, out of all 25 of them not a single one tipped. they were a leadership group on their way to disney.
Sandra_lynn_b0 points1y ago
Tip?! Did you say tip, Sonny? With prices like this??!! In my day, we got cup of coffee and a donut for a nickel and a dime. Tip…indeed!
