to the random corporate loser who told my SM that they were "delusional" to think that they would hire them for the permanent position, I hope your baristas only give you decaf for the rest of your life (self.starbucksbaristas)

my SM went in for an interview 6-months after being hired as an SM (apparently sbux only hires SMs on a trial basis?) and one of the corporate drones told my manager that they were delusional if they thought that they'd keep them in the position :)) when the store is performing better than it has since the beginning of the pandemic, customer connections are through the roof, and the team that has been built by this SM is one of the best/happiest in the district

long story short, corporate should only be served decaf and they hate employees who like their jobs :)

Uniqueness is not tolerated at Starbucks. If there's anything I learned when I worked there it was that.

it's really upsetting and disappointing, my manager is definitely AMAZING at what they do, they care so much about the store and their baristas, they go above and beyond in everything and this is how they were rewarded... they ended up having to take some time off (we're not supposed to know, so I won't go into further detail) for mental health & I'm super concerned about them and the future of my store

If your manager is smart they won't come back. No matter what they say if they don't follow exactly what they're told, they won't be successful at Starbucks. I've seen this with several managers. Outside hires in particular have a tough time because they have ideas of how to better improve the store from other endeavors but they are always expensive and Starbucks only cares about how much money they're saving.

Your store will be fine though. It's a shame that you might lose a good manager.

I feel like I’ve heard this story a hundred times now. Starbucks doesn’t care if you’re a good manager or not. All they care about is if you do what they tell you, how they tell you, when they tell you. And if they need a scape goat you better be ready to be smeared and sacrificed for the sake of the company. Only corporate shills allowed.
