how easy is it to get relocated? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by canonymboy
i’m currently working at an unlicensed starbucks kiosk and i’ve only been there since december, but i’d like to start working at a licensed starbucks now for a few reasons. has anyone had experience with going from one starbucks to another and how easy was it to get hired there? i completed my training awhile ago so i’m perfectly competent at being a barista so i was hoping it would be fairly easy! any help or advice is appreciated :)

in order to go from a licensed starbucks to a corporate-owned starbucks - or vice versa - you will need to quit and reapply.

This is because when you work at a licensed location, you are not working for starbucks; you are working for the parent company. For example, for a Starbucks inside of a Target, you would work for Target, not Starbucks.

thanks! would you happen to have a guess at my chances of getting hired at a corporate-owned location then? i get very worried about being unemployed even for a small amount of time so i’d rather not leave my current location if i’m going to have a difficult time finding new work but the same job

It's a total gamble right now with the state of the company. If you are very worried about it, cast a wide net; apply to other companies as well

i worked at a harris teeter starbucks for a little over a year, applied to a corporate starbucks, got the job, and then put in my two weeks at harris teeter. i just informed the corporate store i would be able to start as soon as i finished up my two weeks at the teeter. all of my co-workers at that harris teeter who applied to a corporate starbucks got hired, best of luck!
