A few days ago I broke my foot and I’m now on crutches with a boot. My SM says I’m good to come in to my next shift even with my crutches, and I can’t really afford to take the time off so I’m not going to apply for a leave of absence. Does anyone have any experience with having an injury like this and going to work? What has your store done to accommodate you at all? I’m just very curious as to how the next month will go for me. I imagine I will just be in a planted position like dto or window for all of my shifts until I get better.

We have. A Partner who has a wrist issue and had to have surgery, They were 100% accommodating. They kept her on window and dto. Up until now she occasionally goes on bar when she feels/ eats too.

Soooo, yesterday the bottom of the espresso machine actually fell off and landed on my foot (it was a whole big scene right durning morning rush 😩) I was sent straight to the drs, unfortunately my foot was so swollen they couldn’t get an accurate X-ray. I have to go back mon to get it redone. My foot is huuuge and covered in a bruise (on top and the outside of my foot) the dr ordered me to non weight bare, so crutches and I’m allowed to work while sitting. My shifts have been cut in half (6-10am) so I totally understand where you’re coming from, but my works accommodating me..praying Monday I am able to get my X-ray done hubby’s convinced it’s broken just based on the fact of the swelling bruising and me not being able to weight bare without intense pain. I hope that they’re able to figure out what to do with you ☺️ (if you wanna chat, feel free to message me)

we had a partner break her toe & wasn’t able to walk/stand on it for long periods of time. instead of putting her on window w a stool they made her apply for LOA

What did Sedgwick say? If you don’t have an official accommodation through Sedgwick anything your manager says is them being nice. It does not have to be honored.
