269 (nice) partner leaving (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Dance_partyzone
I am SO glad to be leaving. It’s strange that the second I got the job at another coffee shop, the “Siren’s Call” stopped working on me or something. I was working a shift today and I am realizing how much exhaustion, mental decline, and physical pain i’ve grown used to over the three years i’ve been at starbucks. The job i’m going to is starting me at 15, pays weekly, and has a real break room even though it’s a tiny cafe. and the employee discount applies to everything not just some things. it’s just making me see how much this company really makes you think you have everything while giving literal crumbs…if a small cafe can pay everyone 15 an hour, weekly, and gives our discount to everything in the store (OH AND SIMILAR HEALTH INSURANCE TOO LIKE????) then i would think a company that’s making billion in pandemic times could do the same. Ive grown so used to the stress, pain and fatigue, i thought i was excelling but i was really just flat out suffering. i didn’t consider that i could be using this experience to get a better job. it feels liberating.
if you’ve made it this far here’s a gold star ⭐️
and if you’re a 250-280 partner that feels similarly, this is your sign to get a better job

237 here. One of my partners just got a text from our new SM saying “and don’t bother (old SM) she’s not the SM anymore. Sorry you had to find out this way.” I’m putting my notice in tomorrow morning and I cannot wait.

Honestly… Starbucks is at its all time greediest state now. It’s sad.

And they keep raising our prices without telling us!! We don’t find out until we get yelled at by customers as if we (baristas) were the ones who changed the price.

Correct. Dude, my iced latte with some sauce cost fcken $7 now. With discount? It’s $5. I’m taking my ass to mcd or Dunkin!

Edit: it’s a small too!
BeautifulSoul212 1 points 1y ago
Yeah, you won’t even catch me at Sbux if it’s my day off. Lol It’s way too much!

Yea but my ass likes the taste of espresso drinks. I can tell the difference…sadly ☹️

Starbucks health insurance used to be worth it. Now, with the amount we get paid at Starbucks, a lot of us could actually get better insurance just through the marketplace. That’s not true for everyone, but it’s worth taking a look to at least see what your options are. I always assumed that my Starbucks benefits were the only option until I looked at what I was paying for and what I was using.

I’m a 260 partner and I feel 100% the same!!! Thank you so much for posting this! I work Monday- Friday. (7.5-9 hr shifts) I work in a high volume store and sometimes by Friday…I can barely move, and I mean my entire body is aching. My arms, legs, hips and back are the worst. And I’d never felt this way before working for the Siren. I get 2 full days with my toddler on the weekend, then back to the back breaking week all over again! It’s so exhausting! I can’t continue to feel this way at 13.65/hr. Smh.

i COMPLETELY get this!!! i literally have the same schedule with three back to back 8 hour closing in a week and by that last shift of the week i’m moving like a poorly put together robot, the only thing that started to get me through the last shift of the week is the reminder that i wouldn’t have to do it the next day. when you’re at that point…it’s how you know you need to hang up the apron…

Yeah, I’m about there. I was trying to hold on until this summer to see what our raises would be. But in my heart I know I can’t put my body through this for very much longer. I’m only 30 and I have a young child. She needs her Momma more than Sbux does.

can i ask what the numbers mean? what’s 269 and 250-280?
im_a_pimp 4 points 1y ago
it’s the first numbers of your partner number the older you are the smaller the number. so partners now are starting at 321 if that makes sense
vinylcollector24 1 points 1y ago
ohhhh haha okay that makes sense. i couldn’t figure out why every post like this had numbers 😂 mines 282! they’re almost at 4 now 😳

EX-281 partner here and I completely conquer with this POST! I was a shift supervisor for several years and I got an offer to do something completely different, $20/hr, guaranteed 40 hrs a week. It’s been about a month and a half and I’m constantly being told I’m such an asset and I truly feel I am. I busted my rear end for years at the Siren and I was never appreciated. Take the plunge, guys. If they truly had a single care to their “partners,” it would sincerely be reflected and you’d KNOW. This new job makes sure I know it.
