drink order cheat sheet (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by kittytwears
I was wondering if anyone had a cheat sheet that shows the order of how the drinks are made?? I recently started and I’m having troubles remembering the order of the drinks and what goes in what. Thank you!!

you can always use the POS, like on the right side it has the ingredients

I think they might mean the actual order to put stuff in the cup, not the amounts?

Anything in particular you're having trouble with? This is the beverage routine part of training so it's really important. I don't have a cheat sheet but here's the basic ones.

**Latte, Cappuccino, Mocha, etc**

Steam milk (if hot), pull shots, pump syrup, catch shots (in glass for caramel macchiato), pour milk, add ice (if iced) and finish. Macchiato shots go on top.

**Shaken Espressos**

Pull shots into shot glass, scoop ice into shaker, add flavours, add shots, shake, pour into cup, add milk.

**Americano**
Pull shots, add water, add ice (if iced)

**Frappaccino**
Coffee (unless it's cream base), milk to the line, pour into the pitcher, flavour, Ice, base (coffee/creme)

On fraps I still repeat this in my head all the time. Coffee, milk, flavour, ice base.

The most important one is the espresso drinks because you'll learnt I sequence 2 drinks at a time. It should always be Steam, Shots, Syrup, Pour.

Whether it's hot or iced try to stick with this.

Also I used to go through the Starbucks app after work just to test myself to see if I remembered what/how many pumps go in each drink :)

Oh lastly, there’s an app on the iPads at work called “Store Resources” which has the recipe cards on it. You can only access it at work but you can look at the recipes while you’re on window waiting or something like that and make sure you know.

The basis of a lot of our drinks is a hot latte, which would be:

1. Steam milk
2. Queue shots (press the button, and when I first started I liked to put the shot glass underneath just in case)
3. Pump syrup
4. Go start on your next drink while the maestrena does it’s thing (this is called sequencing)
5. Come back to the first drink and take the milk out, clean the wand, then groom the milk and pour in
6. Whipped cream goes on mochas/white mocha/cinnamon dolce

That’s the basis of hot bar and everything else will follow after u get that down. Iced latte? Just skip the milk steaming and pour the cold milk to the third line after espresso shots pull. Hot chocolate? Just don’t pull the shots.

Hope this helps!
