I’m ecstatic. Hopefully it deters people from asking for drinks blended. Fck I look like blending a refresher or tea when I have 10 Frappuccinos to make. 😚

Yea cuz u kno if u dont lol some of em will go wait for their drink at the hand off area and they will be like "can i get that blended" to avoid the 50 cent charge. But people probly will still try to do that anyway. Like theyll come order a drink knowing that they want it blended but that it costs an extra 50 cents and they will not say it to u while ordering but will go to the handoff and say it to the barista lol at my store we have plenty of customers who always order at the register and then they go wait at the hand off and then they start asking for their drinks to be made a certain way that costs extra and asking for things that they have to pay for

I have a shift that will 100% do a refund for their original drink, re-ring it with the fee. They don't mess around.

"It is $1.25 more for cold foam." Has not deterred ONE SINGLE PERSON. I mean, I wish I'd get that extra money myself for doing the extra step because THAT would make me actually want to do it. But otherwise, I'll feel a tiny bit better but not really. Still hate adding cold foam because it is so pointless to me. I'm sorry cold foam lovers, I don't see that it adds anything more than just a tad bit more sweetener and a bit of whip wouldn't do.

I mean it’s .50 cents to literally toss it in a blender and push a button… not for a whole new part of the drink… so I could definitely see people not wanted blended stuff because I get so many of the “it was *this* much yesterday and now it’s *this*? What did you charge me for?” Like lmfao we’ll see though

It’s a good thing as long as the increased profit is shared with us. It uses the company’s equipment and our labor. Why shouldn’t we charge more for it? We should also charge more when we steam the cream for an Americano or drip coffee

This was my thought. Based on the insane prices of some people's multiple-times-a-day drinks, this won't deter most people. Means the company is making more money off of something because it takes more time, but we're the ones putting in that time.

People will say “I want a Pike with cream, please steam the cream” right now we don’t charge for that in my store but I think we should because it’s as much time and work as a misto. Just because it’s less cream shouldn’t make a difference. We’re selling a service more than vending groceries

A misto is half brewed coffee, half steamed milk. People requesting less than 4oz added, but want it steamed, do not get charged for the milk

I mean they should just pay us more for the amount of work we do rather than charge customers more and continue to benefit themselves whilst simultaneously requiring us to multitask 3 different positions but paying us for one.

You realize that it is in place to benefit us yes? It adds labor to your store every time it gets rung up. It ends up hurting the store and labor more if you DON'T charge people for this. I don't get how people don't understand these added charges add labor. We do more work to blend these drinks so we charge more labor for the added work. You are hurting yourself if you decide to just ignore charging people for this.

it was exactly what you’d expect. i poured nitro and ice into the blender and it was just… chunky icy nitro? idk. i didn’t see the appeal. it didn’t taste any different either 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you take a Nitro sweet cream and steam it (an older customer of mine gets it) ... it's really nice (like melted ice cream

I had someone come in and do the same thing, I think it's on some sort of diet. she got it with no frap base, cinnamon, and like 2 pumps of SFV. it dumped absolutely all over the counter when I poured it. i saved some in the blender to give a little taste and it was VILE.

Make all the customizations more expensive. If the company wants us to have to make 93 step drinks then we need to charge for all the extra labor.

Super happy. It is extra labor used to do it so there should be a charge. In the long run, it even helps increase the labor scheduled, so it benefits both baristas and the company, which is a win win for us. Sure, the people trying to get a venti Frankenfrap for $4.85 might not like it, but I don’t care so much about them lol.

Not starbucks related but the well-known asian wok place in my country puts the fried vegetables etc on top of your rice, and if I ask them to mix it before putting in the box, they ask €0,70 🥲 so I’m actually surprised Starbucks didn’t think of this before

As a barista, I think it's ridiculous. It's just a ploy by Starbucks to continue to raise prices for random shit just for the sake of greed, while at the same time our wages stay the same. It's really not that big an inconvenience to blend, so I don't understand why baristas support this so much.

Thank you! Everyone on here saying they’re happy about it don’t realize that Starbucks will soon be making themselves too expensive for people and you’ll have even less labor hours. I got a venti Carmel macchiato the other day to surprise my husband and when the barista said the total, it was over $6 and there’s only 2 shots of espresso! I made a mental note to look for other coffee places when we get coffee on the go. Starbucks is just greedy. If the up charges were getting passed along as raises that’s one thing but they aren’t. It’s pure profit.
