Generally the company doesn’t like people to transfer that frequently, but it’s possible if the SMs and DMs are on board with it. I’ve known someone who switched between districts twice a year when they moved to & from school. It takes time to work everything out in advance, so talk to your manager as soon as possible. It probably wouldn’t hurt to contact stores near where you’ll be in CA as well.
You would earn a wage comparable to whatever your coworkers in CA were getting; it would be illegal for the company to pay you less than 15/hr. Your pay would go back down when you moved back to TX.

My store is in an area that sees increases business during the summer (beach town.) We have 2 partners who transfer in for the summer when they are gone from college and then return to their other store when they go back to school. It works for both stores since their home store slows down in summer, but we get slow in winter. It really depends on the SM & DM and business.
