interview/getting the job questions? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by travavesty
hello all!
i'm planning to apply to work at starbucks next week. i've never had a job before because i'm 16, and i really want to work at starbucks. mostly because it seems like a good way to be around more people and interact with them, and i really like... well.... people. (i also just like the atmosphere too, and i drink starbucks drinks a lot in my day to day life)
generally, what are the interview questions like? what are interviews like in general...??? is there anything i should or should not say? any and all tips are wholly and utterly appreciated!
honestly, i don't know how likely they are to hire a 16 year old boy with no prior job experience, but i'm going to try anyway because it seems the most entertaining out of my options for possible places of employment.
(p.s. on the off chance i do get the job, any tips for that, too?)

honestly everywhere is so understaffed that you'll get hired. i got hired upfront last year (i was 18 with no job experience)! my qs were along the lines of describe a time when you showed leadership, how do you deal with problems when working w others, etc. a lot on your collaborative skills. i'm sure it varies to a certain degree, but nothing too taxing. id say study typical interview questions a bit & look around on the r/starbucksbaristas sub as well! good luck:)

hey! so i applied at your age too and they asked me basic questions:

-why do you want to work here? (I talked about benefits, how sbucks “cares” for their employees and I admire that)
-what are your strengths and weakness?
-describe a time you’ve ever encountered a problem when working in teams and how did you resolve it?
-how to resolve an issue with customer (I volunteered a lot so I just used a scenario)
