Illness policy is very lenient. I’ve realized a lot of leaders don’t know the illness policy unfortunately. I’ve had the SCC call me and leave a voicemail to prove to my SM that I could in-fact use sick time for a preventative care doctors appointment on a day I am typically scheduled bc my schedule is the absolute same every week.
When you call in sick it is no longer your responsibility to find coverage. Is it nice of you? Will your team feel a little bit more supported? Yes, but again not your responsibility. I have most numbers of Partners in my district who are hungry for hours. I’ll also call 3 of the closest stores in my district for those off but not labeled as unavailable and send a mass text. That’s it. No response? oh well I’ll call my store and be like sorry couldn’t find anyone. I tried. I only do that bc I know it’s a struggle with call outs, but a little effort reminds your team you appreciate them and tried. I don’t expect that of my team as an SSV though. I always tell my partners to rest up and feel better. Physical and mental health complexities are non-negotiable for me and don’t forget to use sick time or PTO!❤️🩹
Your responsibility moving forward after informing the store of your absence is to take care of yourself and have a speedy recovery so we can welcome you back when you’re 💯
