My biggest pet peeve ever. I have people get so mad at me when I tell them I have never heard of that nor do I know what is in it. When they shoot back at me that it's on tiktok, I tell them I'm not on barista tiktok. I don't want work following me home.

Which absolutely blows my mind. I'm a tarbucks barista and I don't have time to film myself making weird drinks. I barely have time to even come up with new drinks. We may not have the foot traffic corporate stores do, but our tasks are still the same and we are worse staffed.
I should start making videos of menu drinks. Here's a classic vanilla latte! It pairs well with blonde and oatmilk! Here's a mango dragonfruit refresher. It can be made with water, lemonade, or coconut milk!

I simply deny the existence of drinks that are not on the menu and ask the customer for a breakdown of what they want. If we have the ingredients, it's no problem.
The only time I hinted at knowledge of these dumb tik toc drinks is when I had to explain to a young, disappointed kid that the Under the Sea Refresher was a cruel social media joke.

It’s one part I love about the job is shutting both kids and adults down like nope never heard of it. We have had so many ask for the under the sea refresher in the UK so it’s even harder to say well you need Gatorade for one

Cali style means caramel is on the sides of the cup va on the top of the drink. In this case maybe white mocha on sides of the cup before the drink is poured in.

Someone asked for a sunset refresher yesterday, they spent 30 extra seconds looking up a recipe after I told them we don’t know what that is. It calls for cool lime base, my store has never had that. 🙃

some one asked me to make their drink half pink and half purple 🧍🏻♀️ so i asked “…like the refresher bases? im sorry im not quite sure what that is” she started getting super frustrated insisting that it was a frap recipe. i had to hand it over to my SM i had no clue what to even say 😭
