Certified trainer (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Other-Ad-7615
I’m fascinated about becoming certified trainer. Is it difficult to be? How long does it take it?

Just takes long enough to go through the Baristas Trainer modules.

I think you only get paid the trainer rate when you have a trainee though. The rest of the time it's still barista pay. Don't quote me on that, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Barista trainers don’t get a pay increase at all except for a flat bonus per person trained - $65 in the US

Dang, that's really nice!

There used to be a *tiny* pay raise applied to the hours you train someone. Or at least that's how it was for my brief stint as one before promoting to Shift

Not nice…. It’s 65 BEFORE taxes, bonuses get taxed more. Training someone for $45 or less? No thanks!

In general none of us get paid enough for the amount of work we do and stress we're under. But everyone at a store is basically training new partners up to speed.

Nice to get paid at least something for doing the first few days of 1-on-1. It's better than the 13 cent raise I got for barista trainer hours.

It’s like 20 hours of work. So an extra $3 ish an hour pre tax or $2.60ish after. And for those hours I don’t have to worry about what’s going on the floor since I’m training.

It’s not nice. There’s an average of 8-9 days of training. So that’s only $7 day for training. Training in a multibillion dollar company.

You get to train your green beans for 8-9 days?! We get 4 😂
