Starbucks kiosk, rant, advice? (self.starbucksbaristas)

How do you guys deal with a manager that doesn't have a back bone, let's other baristas gets away with being on their phones on the entire shift, not cleaning after themselves, not doing anything unless asked, being late, etc.

Especially when one of the baristas is friends with thr manager.

Yet, he constantly schedules me outside my availability, constantly schedules me to be by myself for 4 hours of my shift for 4 days out of the weeks, never appreciates what I do, just complains to the other barista.

Whenever I work with one. I'm always stuck doing two people's jobs because he's always on his phone, not doing his job. He'll complain about other people not doing their job and be high and mighty because he's worked for Starbuck through the store for a long time (he transferred from a different location). He constantly gossips and talk smack about other baristas. I admit I got in on it, but I would try to back the others up.

He's always complaining he's looking for another job.

And then yesterday he started drama in the work group chat with another barista asking for someone to trade shifts with her.

Should I talk to my store HR about it?

That’s why I couldn’t do the Kiosk starbucks anymore. Did for 3 years but the problem with licensed stores is that upper management whether it be a grocery store , airport , macys etc. usually doesn’t know how to handle the kiosk. They don’t know how to schedule labor correctly or reprimanded bad behavior correctly so if you’re a good worker you end up doing all the work while your other partner slacks.

Yup, I thought about saying something to them today, but I remembered that they like my coworker more than me, sadly everyone does. He's the outgoing one, im an introvert that keeps to myself. It takes a lot of effort to come even a small amount that he is.

It sucks because, that's also how he gets away with stuff.

I've been looking for another job for awhile now, I'm limited to places near where I live and my skill set. It's also been hard finding a job that pays what my store pays me now. I even had a recent interview that I'm still waiting to hear back from.

I feel ya. Im limited to places near me too. I live with my boyfriend and his parents. I dont drive but my boyfriend does. His parents have a car and he used to have his grandmas car but his brother who lives in the city needed it i guess so his parents gave it to his brother. So theres 1 car shared in the household between his parents n him. So sometimes i gota do uber but that shit gets expensive quick....even to the starbucks i work at which is only a 4 min drive. But it takes me 25 minutes to walk it especially worse in the summer heat. But try applying to a bank if u have any near u? I heard on here that a bunch of baristas also work at banks wen theyre not at Starbucks. I heard they love starbucks baristas cuz we are already good with customer service. But i hope u hear back from ur recent interview! 😁 and i hope it goes in ur favor! Im gettin a new job too and it pays way more than starbucks and its full time/full benefits. So food luck to us! ☺️
