They left out that the NLRB (a federal agency) is currently bringing two separate law suits against Starbucks for violating workers rights and union busting.
Dance_partyzone 38 points 1y ago
it’s all a distraction
Assiqtaq 7 points 1y ago
They will always leave out every single part that makes the company look bad, and even the parts that let workers know they are within their rights. So yeah.
Nalin90 70 points 1y ago
Yup its a bunch of bullshit.

You got sources to back up your statements? I trust unions way more than I trust a corporation that refuses to give me full time hours or a living wage.

I feel so bad telling my baristas that all have two jobs to do intense cleaning tasks. *Guaranteed* full time hours and or a living wage for baristas would help immensely. During the March hours cuts I had 24 hours for the worst week and many of my baristas got between four and fifteen.

I’m playing devils advocate here, no harsh feelings at all, I just wanna make that clear. I have two thoughts, amongst others, about the union situation.

1. Why is Sbux receiving all this attention when there are currently many other fast food companies doing the exact same thing?

2. Which leads me to my next point, I feel this is a problem with federal/state minimum wages being unlivable, not so much that Starbucks in particular is doing something that many other companies aren’t also doing. Sbux is just in the spotlight right now.

Of course, this only relates to wage and nothing else. And the unionizing is not *only* about wage so I am not discounting that at all.

Love you all

Just want to chime in that Workers United is in fact a non profit organization. So while they are paying their employees and paying over head costs, etc. they don’t operate with the premise of making as much money as possible.
Nalin90 10 points 1y ago
You're the one making claims. If anyone has to prove themselves here, it's you. Claiming unions are businesses is like claiming nonprofits are businesses. Also just cause starbucks does more than other companies doesn't mean it does enough. Again, they refuse to give me full-time hours while heavily pressuring me against getting a second job and refusing to pay me a living wage.

No one is above shitty behavior. I fail to see what that has to do with anything being said here

This was a company wide memo to be posted in every store.
RubySapphireSage 39 points 1y ago
I stopped reading weekly updates , Starbucks got too much drama now 😭. Best to mind my bizznesss
wild_n_fluorescent 17 points 1y ago
Oh I wish 😭 the shifts at my store CORNER us to make sure we read it and also sign off that we read it.
RubySapphireSage 8 points 1y ago
I feel you , I don’t like being pressured into it by my shifts 😂. I took my money and left I don’t have time anymore 😭😭
maddogracer161 6 points 1y ago
I'll read it aloud to my baristas. My manager isn't going to get upset at me for not giving time to read it during a shift.
rudebii 38 points 1y ago
IF I was still a partner, the Loki in me would create a new, pro-union version with all the same graphics, in the same type and layout, and replace copies in my store, and give copies to other partners in different stores to do the same.

I'm in no way suggesting partners with the relevant publishing skills do that, but also not not suggesting some like-minded partners do that.
Equivalent-Gur-6318 9 points 1y ago
I thought about doing that but settled on passive aggressive sticky-notes so I wasn't TECHNICALLY breaking any rules I could think of.

Someone in my store posted the results on this subreddit but also told me I was probably going to get in trouble if anyone found out it was me 😬
Ok-Bowl4392 2 points 1y ago
Kind of may have used your idea at my store 😅
Ok-Bowl4392 2 points 1y ago
If someone asks if you know about it be like I read it yeah and offer no more information
ZestycloseRate7330 14 points 1y ago
Yep… bunch of shit.
overturned23 10 points 1y ago

CorCaroli11 5 points 1y ago

gabby24681 3 points 1y ago

Voxxyvoo 2 points 1y ago
I saw it and binned it. It fell on the floor so I thought it wasn’t important
iqueefkief 2 points 1y ago
