Don't worry. It will get better. It takes time for everything to gel. They don't expect you to be perfect at this point...or they shouldn't.
Deep breaths.
You got this!

Don't let it eat you up. No job is worth that.

it’s a decent job, if anything wait three months then transfer to a store with lots of positive reviews bc it shows a solid team

I’m gonna be real with you: this job sucks at first. It’s stressful, high demand, fast paced, and takes a lot out of you. That being said, it can be a very rewarding, dependable job. Understand that it usually takes at least 3 months to get get “into the swing of things”. Take things one day at a time and don’t be afraid to ask questions!! Your coworkers would much rather you ask when you’re unsure about something. Honestly, I’m impressed that you were able to remember your partner numbers after one day😂 Yes, you’ll be slow for a while, but that’s everyone. No one is instantly good at this job. It’s more about whether or not you can stick it out long enough to get good.
Hang in there, don’t give up, look for the coworkers that are personable and fun to connect with. You’ve got this!
- A five year partner, now an SSV, who absolutely hated her first 3 months with the Bux.

THANK YOU!😭 i’m going to keep all this in mind today before I pass out on the floor. lol

Of course!! Feel free to DM me if you have questions too, I’m always happy to help a partner. I don’t want anyone to have to go through the experience I did as a new barista, being made to feel like I was constantly a failure. You can do this, and it really can be a fun environment to be in.

Strap in because this will be the worst part of working at starbucks. The first two weeks are HORRIBLE because you don’t really remember anything and it feels like you’re doing everything wrong. BUT the bright side is that you will get through it and it gets significantly easier after those two weeks. Take a breath, do your best, and you’ll be fine! Remember that everyone has gone through this before and has gotten through it!

I hated it when I started. I felt like it was too much, too fast pace, too much to remember and I thought my coworkers were mean. Now I love it and am a supervisor . It does get better and eventually it’ll click into place. Just trust the process

they shouldn't expect you to remember tbh! from a trainer 💛 we all know that there isn't enough time to actually learn everything you need to know how to do! They give us such a short time to train you that we kind of just end up throwing must stuff at you and hoping some or most of it sticks 😭What they're really going to judge you on if anything is the DESIRE and WILLINGNESS to learn and to get better! so it's totally okay if you don't remember everything, just be able to ask questions and try your best when you go in 💛

The second day of my training I legitimately cried in the bathroom and almost quit and then as soon as training “ended” (your training will definitely last longer than your official training period because there’s still a learning curve) everything got much better. It took me three weeks to remember my partner numbers lol so you have me beat on that! Don’t worry, it will get easier :)

Today marked my one month since my first day, and it does get better. You’ll have so much time to learn, and you might stumble upon people who are not as understanding with learning, majority of people will understand. It’s a lot to learn, I still struggle with bar/day dots/certain makes. The best advice is only learn recipes from the iPad/SB resources, ask for help if you’re unsure, and request bar time when you’re done training. I wish the best to you!! You got this!!

Everyone learns at their own pace & on your off time look at the starbucks app for recipes
