Positive for Covid, how long will I not be able to work? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by abandon_hopeless
Sorry if this has been asked a lot I am just having trouble finding up to date information applicable to where I am. I am a part time barista in Canada, I have had symptoms since Tuesday and decided to take a rapid test today (Thursday) since I am supposed to work tomorrow. It is positive for covid.

I'm going to call the store and let them know I can't work tomorrow, I am triple vaxxed and my symptoms have already improved a lot I was just wondering when it is safe to be able to come back to work? Also can anyone tell me if we are still paid if we have covid? This is the first time I've been sick since I've worked at bux so I'm not totally sure what the procedure is.

Again, I work in Canada all the info online I can find is for the US

Definitely do not go back until you take another rapid and it comes out negative, just to be extra cautious. Once testing positive, try again every day/other day until a negative result. When it comes to sick days, I’m fairly sure you can check partner info on how many available you have. I’d say let your SM know asap just to give them some time to try and get someone to come in. Hope this helps! :)
