I tried really hard to appreciate what was said, though I know its naïve wishful thinking. But he completely lost me at NFTs

I remember listening to him speak (recorded speech) at a manager’s conference in Portland like 15 years ago.

It felt like a cult and we were all drinking the KoolAid.

I stepped down from management at that point.

Sad that nothing has changed.

I'm glad you saw it. My current manager is all for him and is delusional and out of touch with her own store. It's sad when a shift holds the store together over the manager

Does anyone else have one or two coworkers who have absolutely bought in the cult for some reason? It's surreal to me that anyone can listen to this shit and think anything but disdain and mild disgust.

TOO many. Their identity is so blended with the siren's, it's incomprehensible to me. I mean, I get it to a point. I bought into it my first couple months, but how do you really buy into it after your nth understaffed shift/rude customer/unachievable standards + unlivable wage?

As I was playing my Nintendo Switch while listening to his video, every major point he made I followed with "HAH! Bullshit! HAH! Also Bullshit! That is also Bullshit! HAH!" Bruh this company has proven they don't care about it's employees. I refuse to call us partners because this company stopped treating us like it years ago. It's despicable.

I stopped listening the second he said he greeted a partner with a big hug and kiss (about 45 seconds into the video). We also found out we won our union vote while I was “watching” the video, so yeah, screw you howard.

These were my exact observations. I feel so validated.

I can't get past the NFT thing much less anything else... just why

Where is the video? Is it only viewable on the hub?

I thought the video was motivating. If this wasn't my last day at sbux, I'd be excited about what's to come. It's going to take some time but the partner experience is going to improve greatly.
okayteenay 15 points 1y ago
Yeah, “the partner experience is going to improve greatly” has been promised over and over for many, many years.

It hasn’t yet.
BatWeary 6 points 1y ago
every time this phrase is said, things get worse lmao
Emarie2200 6 points 1y ago
If there is any improvement in the time to come it’s motivated by his fear of increased unions. It has nothing to do with any regard to the partner experience. Dude has his tail tucked rn.
rlogranite -3 points 1y ago
Perhaps, but it's going to improve without having to pay union dues.
Emarie2200 2 points 1y ago
I’m guessing you aren’t aware of what the union fees are for? Which is a big issue for people who are somewhat uneducated on the matter and just in support of Howard. The fees are used to support any time of boycott which gets paid to partners during those times since Starbucks isn’t going to pay them when they’re on strike or boycotting (whatever). They also may go to the president of the union (depending on size of union etc). This is where I fall off on knowledge in regard to the lead of union and their pay. But the fees are more beneficial towards partners than what we have now. It’s all for the cause of strengthening the work place and our conditions. I encourage you to do some more research. Maybe from those who are apart of unions within Starbucks! :)

You're right, the partner experience is going to improve greatly. When we're all unionized and sat as equals at the table. Might not take as much time as you think, though ;)
