So I work at a cafe store that is moving to a drive thru store. I transferred from a drive thru originally so when my SM started scheduling people for drive thru training, I was like “Hey, I don’t know if I need training because I’m fresh from a drive thru” and he told me that everyone was required regardless. Now I walk everywhere I go for sustainable reasons, and I told him I needed a store that was easy to walk to.
I go for my first shift, I tell the manager there that I was originally from a drive thru store so she doesn’t need to worry about “training” me as I already knew how it worked. They put me on DTR and then she was like “yeah there’s no reason to train you” and then just kinda moved me around the store.
This store is a 30 minute walk one way (in reference, my store is about 5) and I am there every Saturday. And I’m still being scheduled for training shifts there when I could be at my store, and I’m still scheduled for training shifts and it looks like they’re going to continue to until the new store opens.
It’s just exhausting to walk there 30 minutes, for a 4 hour shift where I’m not even being trained, and then walk 30 minutes back. I know it’s such a minor complaint but it’s exhausting.
And I don’t know how to word it to my store manager or if I even should and just suck it up. It just doesn’t appear like anyone else is training anymore.
