Curious if anyone else has experienced this and if so, what did you do?
Shift supervisor called out so my manager had to push our hours to open @ 8am instead of 5:30am. Our DM didn’t like that so at 9:30pm (the night before) they’re trying to scramble to make something work which I understand but is still inconvenient for the rest of us because now I need to stay up and wait for a text so I know when I’m suppose to come in. (I’m an opener so I start at 5am) It’s an hour later… nothing. So I text asking and they’re still not sure, finally at 11pm they decide to keep the 8am opening. Has anyone else had these late night, last minute changes? I don’t mind the extra few hours of sleep but what if they decided to open at 5:30? Would they have expected me to come in when I had to wait on them the night before.
The more I think about it the more I think i’m overreacting but for me, this is just a side second part time job and when I was hired I was told i’ll only be averaging 2-3 days a week which is what I wanted but I’ve been consistently scheduled 5 days a week and over my availability time. I love the company but I don’t want to overwork and overextend myself.
