this happens to you?? im at a pretty busy store and when this happened to us we got out ice machine looked at and they said the filter needed to be changed. it was full of mocha powder and matcha. they said we should no longer make those things in the back room 🤷🏼♀️

Our ice machine is a smaller one and we physically cannot get a new one because there is actually no space to put it, theyd have to take out our sinks and dishwashing space to fit a better/bigger one. If we push it too hard the metal condenser turns into a solid block of ice

Our previous SM refused to use the pcard to buy things we need from publix/walmart. She preferred to have us take abuse from our customers when we were out of anything she could easily buy or when our daily order was incomplete or we didn't get our milks. She took it as a challenge to never use the pcard.
Thankfully, our current SM understands the purpose of the pcard and purchases missing items as needed (he'll even use his Amazon acct if he needs to). Last week one day we were short staffed due to call outs and got shorted milks on our order, so seeing as we didn't have a body to send to the store he used instacart and had the milks delivered so we could make whip creams and sweet cream.
I don't understand SMs right now. The whole point of the pcard is to help the store run smoothly and to fill in the gaps when orders are incomplete.. WHY ARE THEY SO LOATHE TO USE THE DAMN CARD???

That seems wild. All the store's I've worked at it's been in the safe, tucked into plastic binder cash is kept in. Shifts just take it out when they need to use and put the receipt in the folder in the back. When it went missing, we took cash from a drawer and did a payout.

And for me, except for the last SM, it has been the go to for all things needed. Only if someone is asked to pick up something on the way in to work have they had to use their own money.

Lmao our milk delivery didn’t come in yesterday so I had to go buy 30 milks by myself with my own money cause they couldn’t find the company card (I got cash back tho) and had to haul them all in by myself

This happened to my store one time. My manager had to call... someone, not sure who, and they said it has been flagged as potential fraud or something but they were able to unlock it.

Since I’ve been hired about 6 months ago I’ve had to go to Walmart at least 5 times, probably more. One time it was after a horrible storm and everyone had panic bought everything in Walmart, and they made me grab whatever was left on the shelves of all the milks. A few families we’re definitely glaring at my cart full of milks and heavy creams

Honestly at my store its been the same 2 people doing the order for the last 2 years, one being the store manager and the trucks will just not show up sometimes. We have to call them and ask what happened and usually their response is “something something company expense, didnt pay us”

It really be like that. Our ice machine was broken and I had to grab ice from another Starbucks in our district because they wouldnt let us get it from a market. I had to bring two empty Veinti cup boxes put bags in them, fill them both up with ice and bring them via my non Air conditioned car on a California summer day.... its was a good time for everyone involved haha

Lol my store is in the same parking lot as a grocery store and we go on runs so often for milk. I personally love getting to go milk shopping on the clock its a nice break from the siren.

Hearing everyone's struggles makes me kinda glad I work in one of those grocery store Starbucks. Whenever we need anything we just take it from the store and don't have to worry about running out of the essentials.

In the hellish summer of 2020 my store began calling the trips to the nearby supermarket for ice "ice runs" bc our ice machine gave up on us. Oh but every year there has been trips for garbage bags or gallons of milk, and I was happy to volunteer myself to go on the adventure of getting them 😁

Yep, this is the norm now. Trash bags, hand soap, dish soap, milk, warming papers, you name it has been bought from grocery stores in my experience. Even when the Starbucks is in a grocery store.
