Nuts seems unlikely, but it might be made in a factory or something with nuts. Or I’m not sure if there’s any seasonal toppings with nuts that could cross contaminate, but that seems even less likely. The artificial sugar packets like exploading opening in a rush which is why they came to mind.
The only other idea I have is just along the lines of “is your throat otherwise irritated and is a hot drink just worsening it” or similar. It is allergy season in a lot of places. I know for me even plain water seems to make my throat scratchy sometimes (I switch to tea with honey or something with a splash of dairy), but I don’t know anyone else who has said similar. I don’t know that this is likely at all.
Good luck figuring it out though!

“CINNAMON DOLCE TOPPING [SUGAR, CINNAMON, SALT, EXTRACTIVES OF BUTTER (MILK), AND OTHER NATURAL FLAVOR]” here’s the ingredients from the website but almost all starbucks food/drink is made with shared machinery, including the factories the powder came from. it probably did have trace amounts of nuts but it’s impossible to tell. i hope you feel better!
