meetings can be outside of availability, but if you absolutely cannot make it then you can’t. but i’d assume it’s pretty much impossible to schedule a meeting that meets everyone’s availability, so it makes sense. otherwise yeah they’re mandatory

Your manager doesn’t need to know what you do in your off time, the only reason you would need a “proof note” is if you have a doctors note saying your appointment was then or even your new limitations. Your manager doesn’t need to know and shouldn’t ask that of you. Honestly stand your ground and put up boundaries. That “mandatory meeting” is happening in every Starbucks across the world, all that you are doing is watching Howard do a speech then you as a store will talk about the speech and your manager will answer any questions, most of it will be about unionizing and weather or not you as a store will unionize- which I would recommend with your terrible management situation. As a unionized store you won’t take shifts at other stores and your scheduling will be more concrete. Id recommend looking into it and contacting a dm

Common yes normal no. In interviews store manager are supposed to clarify that partners are willing and able to work shifts at all stores in the district. Usually managers will ask for volunteers or give a courtesy heads up but it’s not required. Kinda rude if you ask me but totally allowed. Usually at our store there are a couple of partners who don’t mind and they go first but everyone is fair game

It's normal if your manager sucks. If you stick up for yourself and assert that it's not possible for given reasons it often won't happen again, they'll move on to the next person to hassle.

Not normal, I was hired for one location but trained at another but my manager had told me this and had me say I’m able to get to that store and that I’m ok with being there. I’ve been scheduled to cover at other locations and my manager has asked me before if I’m ok with it or double checking after posting the schedule. But being outside of your availability isn’t that normal, put boundaries up and get ahold of your district manager, (an ssv should have their information, you can even ask at a different store in your district if you don’t wanna confront you manager directly) get everything in writing even text messages in case your DM wants it/ needs it for record keeping
