Raises my a** (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by greenssv
Ok......so my sm said that the $15 hr raise for baristas is going to hit 8/1. Also advised that everyone making $15 hr will get a % increase....3%.....that means as the shift with all the responsibilities with what I am currently making....I am getting only $0.80 an hour more that everyone that walks in the door brand new. I guess somehow I knew I was gonna get screwed over this.....time to polish that resume! Congrats for everyone else though....though I am not sure how they are gonna keep shifts with almost no pay differential 🤬

Actually shifts are automatically paid 27% more than baristas, that is the standard nationwide, regardless of what the baristas are stating at in an area.

Thanks for that....our sm actually responded and said the 27% increase....not sure what the 3% was about though.

It means you will get a raise to $19.05 or 3%, whichever is higher.

Most likely they probably just didn’t understand the info they had to give out until people started asking questions and they had to go ask their own questions.

Shifts are supposed to be going to 19 here in Florida.

Im confused too, and that’s why I came to this sub. Are we getting 27% or 3%? Are we going to $19 for shifts or getting like 80 cents raise
greenssv [OP] 1 points 1y ago
We are getting 27% differential!
vegan-trash 1 points 1y ago
Okay I see, so $15 base for baristas and 27% more starting for shift?
pinkyogi 1 points 1y ago
i want a raise 😭 none in sight over here, rehired at the same hourly im making now after 9 months
dazedandconfusedhere 5 points 1y ago
If you are a shift you should be getting 27% more than barista base pay - so if you’re currently a shift at $15, you should be getting a substantial raise

This was included in the initial announcement of the $15/hr raise
pinkyogi 1 points 1y ago
i already made/make 15.5/hr and am not a shift so maybe the raise doesn’t apply to me or my store at all
dazedandconfusedhere 3 points 1y ago
You will be getting a 3% raise then if you’re in a corporate store in the US
