a.k.a. nobody cleaned them properly in a while 😭 these are beautiful
sadlyliss [OP]25 points1y ago
the lil spouts were just as bad!! 😭😭 i was DISGUSTED
joviante22 points1y ago
urnex is faster but not technically plastic safe. for plastics i soak in only hot water for AT LEAST 5 minutes and it just wipes out w a little work and a very slightly damp towel
cuervoescondido11 points1y ago
It says right on the packaging that Urnex is safe for plastic.
sadlyliss [OP]6 points1y ago
i unfortunately just saw both of your comments omg i'm so sorry! i rlly should read the packaging pls forgive me 🥲
joviante4 points1y ago
oop my apologies then
sadlyliss [OP]7 points1y ago
word! my shift lead said it was able to be used for plastics so i went with that, but i'm glad ik now that it's not! ty!!!
cuervoescondido19 points1y ago
Your shift supervisor was right. It says it right on the package. Check for yourself the next time you work, and don't listen to misinformed strangers on the internet.
joviante5 points1y ago
sorry i was following what my shift said 😣 thank you for correcting me!!
joviante5 points1y ago
i think it’s bc the plastic is more porous or something but i won’t tell anyone if you use it 🤫 (i still do on the reeeeally tough ones.)
sadlyliss [OP]3 points1y ago
thank u :') <333
Lost_Magician893520 points1y ago
What’d you’d scrub these with??!
sadlyliss [OP]42 points1y ago
urnex!!! you have to rinse them a LOT before you can use it to serve to customers, but honestly it was so worth it 😭
bigghostb00ty30 points1y ago
Espresso bar pills work really well too
ThatBichAlex10 points1y ago
You’re not supposed to use them on plastic, it will erode over time
sadlyliss [OP]7 points1y ago
that is very interesting i will also have to try this 🤨
darkwolf5237 points1y ago
Really? I have to give that a try
bunnysbigcookie11 points1y ago
i second urnex! i would let these soak in urnex and hot water and go at them with any scrub brush. they get so clean after!
VentiSARnoH204 points1y ago
I used saniwipes lol then rinse with the water from brewing
overturned231 points1y ago
are we allowed to do that
ThatBichAlex3 points1y ago
You could technically bleach them if you want, you just have to wash it three times after that
Reddit_Deluge11 points1y ago
That should improve your purity to at least 96%… just rewatched breaking bad.
ZaftigZephyr8 points1y ago
I use the magic erasers and a lil elbow grease
sadlyliss [OP]11 points1y ago
magic erasers are genuine magic. idk how they work so good 😮💨
[deleted]13 points1y ago
Because they’re basically sandpaper
ihateyousoymatcha22 points1y ago
Also not food safe 🥲 We got flagged by the health department for using them
djdementia6 points1y ago
You can't use magic erasers on this or anything else that is containing food or drink. Those erasers are basically sanding off the protective layer of plastic.
ZaftigZephyr2 points1y ago
Well that sucks 😢
JibJab19947 points1y ago
I find this deeply satisfying!
sadlyliss [OP]4 points1y ago
thank u so did i !! i was so excited ab it
FloridaUniversity6 points1y ago
You are A M A Z I N G!!
sadlyliss [OP]5 points1y ago
no YOU ARE !!!!
almondmiilktea5 points1y ago
Does this work the KSR because 🥴 everything is green
ihateyousoymatcha9 points1y ago
Not for much longer 🔥 🥝 ☠️
Either_Square43664 points1y ago
I can’t wait for that. I’m so happy I hate the smell of it and the smell of the inclusions
overturned233 points1y ago
IT SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE
Either_Square43661 points1y ago
Yes it does to me it does I can’t wait for it to be gone
ihateyousoymatcha2 points1y ago
Wait y'all even still have it? We've been out for a month lol, we tossed the inclusions as soon as the update came out
Either_Square43661 points1y ago
We still have a lot of holiday syrups last month we ran out of pumpkin spice
sadlyliss [OP]3 points1y ago
it's getting discontinued 😌😌😌 i've never been happier ab that ✨✨
_kendallian2 points1y ago
As far as I know nothing works for KSR but I have yet to try oven cleaner 😅🤔
joviante2 points1y ago
my store has urnexed the designated kiwi pitchers and it makes it slightly better but it’s still obviously green
violentfemme174 points1y ago
Magic erasers, aka melamine sponges (if you need to order them) are orderable on IMS. They are Ecosure/QASA approved, and in my area, health department approved. They take off *everything and anything*. I don’t like using harsh chemicals for everything cuz it sucks for my hands and tbh I prefer just water and magic erasers. Our urns look spotless and its v satisfying
Ze_eq5 points1y ago
They actually aren’t food safe, I didn’t know at first either. So just be careful with them lol
Either_Square43662 points1y ago
They on sharpie drawings. Where I work almost everyone draws on the wood where our registers are placed
sadlyliss [OP]1 points1y ago
we don't have any at our store right now but i LOVE using them 😮💨😮💨 i just used the blue scrubby and wipes with a white towel after , but i just know the magic eraser would make things so much easier
Necessary_Low9393 points1y ago
I wonder how people clean them for it to get this stained.
vandilor1 points1y ago
toss em in the hobart. we don’t have enough time or extra pitchers to really do this 🥲
Necessary_Low9391 points1y ago
I mean ok but a general rinse and sanitize does the trick.
mypoopoosmelly693 points1y ago
omg how how how i must do these when the store is slow
sadlyliss [OP]4 points1y ago
urnex! i let it sit there for five minutes before i took the blue scrubby and just scrubbed it 😮💨😮💨
Honest-Experience6112 points1y ago
love cleaning things for this reason lol
newday20012 points1y ago
you guys have dish gloves and a plastic apron? 😕 my store is cheap as hell i am realizing with this page .
sadlyliss [OP]1 points1y ago
a lot of my coworkers raised hell about the sani-water giving them a rash :') i don't necessarily get affected to be honest, but i've been chemical burned by the oven cleaner so i tend to use lil plastic gloves if i'm touching any super chemical-y substance like urnex :') not a plastic apron tho! that would be cool and would be helpful for dishes 😮💨😮💨
Elliotisnotokay2 points1y ago
They look brand new omg 😍
Kmsss2 points1y ago
The last time a post about tea pitchers behind cleaned came on here y’all freaked out about labor. Careful around these parts.
sadlyliss [OP]1 points1y ago
to be fair,,, i literally had nothing better to do :') we had a five man closing shift so i was just very bored HAHA
tinydesthique2 points1y ago
can you work at my store PLEASE????
sadlyliss [OP]2 points1y ago
listen if i don't get this shift position .... i might just take u up on that
tinydesthique2 points1y ago
sheeessshhh say less 😮💨
SierraLVX2 points1y ago
Ohmygod, I didn't know you could get rid of those tea stains!
sadlyliss [OP]2 points1y ago
with enough elbow grease anything can take care of those tea stains 😌✨
iamnotabarbie2 points1y ago
It’s it’s…beautiful
sadlyliss [OP]1 points1y ago
thank you 🤩
EliMinivan1 points1y ago
Don't use urnex, not because it's bad for plastic, but because it sucks ass. Just get a magic eraser and it comes off super easy.
ihateyousoymatcha11 points1y ago
Lol we got flagged by OSHA and county health because magic erasers aren't food safe
All we got left are blue sponges and urnex.
darkwolf5232 points1y ago
Rip
EliMinivan2 points1y ago
Oh yeah, sponges and magic erasers aren't good for passing inspections. But it's worth it. Do it.
ihateyousoymatcha2 points1y ago
❤️❤️❤️
sadlyliss [OP]2 points1y ago
takin notes 📝 thank u ,, i will do that next time :D
Wonderful_Nightmare-7 points1y ago
Restroom cleaner does the trick from what I've heard. Just rinse and soap really well after is what I was told.
sadlyliss [OP]6 points1y ago
oh yeah never use restroom cleaner! you don't want you or others to consume any amount of bleach !!!!! not good
melodiic_5 points1y ago
ayo this is super unsafe, we don't use restroom cleaner or any kind of bleach on food/drink-contact surfaces!
I_love_stapler-1 points1y ago
Wait till you find out 90% of restaurants/bars use bleach. Its only unsafe if you have stupid partners who don't properly clean the container after.
melodiic_1 points1y ago
yeah, no. i'm a certified food safety manager at my store. using bleach on food surfaces violates not just starbucks standards, but literal health and safety guidelines. you Will fail QASA if they see you using bleach.
I_love_stapler-1 points1y ago
That's nice and you can downvote me, but QASA is not a health code. Most states allow the use of bleach, it's common, cheap, and effective.
