submitted by Prudent_Preparation1
Ok so ive been with the bux since 2021 sept. around march of this year i transferred stores closer to my home. my new manager is literally 321****** so hes just as new as me. unfortunately i found out everyones getting paid 16+ an hour and im still at minimum wage. can i just ask him for a raise? how does that work.....

You can ask but it’s up to the dm discretion at the end of the day

we’re all getting a raise in august. i’m pretty sure i’ve heard before that u can’t rlly ask for a raise but maybe ask ur sm why everyone gets paid more than u?

okay that makes sense, i just was wondering how long id have to be a barista for because its actually hard work and i love the job but not the wage. i can literally quit but i enjoy making the coffee so its conflicting 🥴

this sounds very suspicious… where are you? what’s minimum wage? who is “everyone”

im in new york so min wage is 15, but ive asked my fellow partners about wages and they told me after a while you get raises so just wondering

They're probably tenured partners that have been with the company for 2ish years or more, you probably won't get a raise so early on since you haven't been with the company for a year I'd wait until then to ask for it which is usually when raises are meant to be given. You probably won't be at the same wage as others if they've been their longer though because their wage might be due to their years of experience with sbux.

ok just wondering cuz i see chipotle and other “fast food” places starting at 16-17 an hour and bux should get on board fr

I've seen that too! I'm at about that rate but I've been here for a while now a long while IMO lol
