Yeah, I did the math. 5% for me is like maybe 75¢. Wtf.
Victoriamarie035 points1y ago
60¢ here 😂
calebaretta4 points1y ago
It should be a raise to $15 iirc, bc 60 cents would mean you’re making 12 now
Victoriamarie032 points1y ago
I think the post meant the retracted that and were only getting a 5% raise.. and I do make 12/hr
absolutefoo52 points1y ago
debating my future w company tbh :(

Razoriya23 points1y ago
At tarbucks I got a 5 cent raise! Told them to keep their money.
fewercharacters19 points1y ago
what a joke
Eastern_Effective_4917 points1y ago
That’s a slap in the face
fouflett115 points1y ago
Wait, so are we not getting a raise to $15 base pay in july? ??
whatjever10 points1y ago
I thought it was $15 or 3% increase.. whichever would give you more.
giuseppinameurer11 points1y ago
So an 8% + rise in inflation, but only a 5% raise…. Makes sense
Imaginarybluntallday6 points1y ago
I’m in the 3% range for the bonus bc I was hired at the end of 2020. Thank god I moved up bc my raise will be like .60 cents v. the like .40 cents… but still neither sound great… and also is this an extra raise or the one promised a long time ago and now they are doing it?
copicking6 points1y ago
So the $15 an hour thing was a lie?
irritablegarlic1 points1y ago
if you don’t make $15 an hour you will be making $15 an hour as a barista, $19 an hour as a shift. 3%/5%/7% is if you already make above the new minimum and depends on your tenure.
cats_with_tentacles6 points1y ago
Yall are getting raises??
mulderufo133 points1y ago
I never have gotten a raise while working at Starbucks and I’ve been there since 2020
Kaluskydrak5 points1y ago
Really? Have you checked your paystubs?
289partnerofq2 points1y ago
I’ll prolly get downvoted a lot for this lmao. But isn’t that a lot? Isn’t that around a 23% raise the last 2 years total or so? (In my area at least). And isn’t that like. Very good lol. I’m happy with it at least 🤷🏼♂️ although my viewpoint may just skewed as I don’t rlly care much about this job compared to my healthcare job.
verysIeepy19 points1y ago
my sm had to fight to get me a raise of 5% last pay period (i was an sfm) and it ended up being a 10 cent raise so no, 5% is not very much.
Ajskdjurj1 points1y ago
If you already made more then the percent or something like that you got less %. I was supposed to get a 5% raise but I ended up getting like 3% which equaled to .67 cents. I’m in a area that starts pay at higher then $15.
thebestdaysofmyflerm1 points1y ago
What? 10 cents is 5% of two dollars.
verysIeepy3 points1y ago
hey man i’m just saying what i saw between the first paystub and the one after the raise . 19.67 to 19.77
thebestdaysofmyflerm3 points1y ago
And I’m just saying that you’re basing your conclusion on faulty math. A 5% raise would have made your pay $20.65 an hour. You actually got a **0.5%** raise.
sunflowercupcakee5 points1y ago
I have gotten a .23 cents raise over the last 3 years so no it isn’t around 23% at all it’s 2 cents less than a quarter. My store is so under staffed because pretty much everything including McDonald’s and Burger King pay more than our starting rate.
BAliciaB4 points1y ago
Same, Dunkin where I am starts at $18 an hour 🥲
Kambina_Smoke2 points1y ago
Whoa, mind if I ask which state? I'm in Florida and I have dunkin friends making 11.50-13 (varying by city a bit.)
289partnerofq1 points1y ago
Woah. That’s insane. I didn’t know that. I thought the raises were company wide, obviously not the same per city/state but at least somewhat close. Over the past 2ish years my entire district. (I pick up shifts at other stores a lot) went from $15.02 to now $18.45
persona-25 points1y ago
It’s also an off cycle increase. We will get a cost of living one in January as well.
sheep_heavenly3 points1y ago
Cost of living one is usually 2%, which hasn't matched the actual CoL increase... Ever, I think.
inoskankles1 points1y ago
wait so were getting a .5% raise instead of $19? -ssv

irritablegarlic1 points1y ago
minimum starbucks wage is going up to $15 per hour, meaning ssv minimum wage will be $19. the 3%/5%/7% is if you already make 15+/tenured 2-5 years/ tenured 5+ years.
trbpanda1 points1y ago
no. effective august 1st, base pay goes to 15. partners hired before may 2nd get an additional 3% raise. partners with 2-5 years of experience get an additional 5% raise. partners with 5+ years get an additional 7% raise.
This would be for tenured partners after the base $15 national minimum goes through though right? So why are so many of those partners that are already a good percentage above their states minimum wage not satisfied?
hotcheetomamii15 points1y ago
it’s simply just not enough, and this goes for every minimum wage job. making under $20 in a majority of the US is impossible if you want to live comfortably. so many of us are in school, or have family’s. we have to balance other real life instances with trying to make ends meets with increases in rent and influx in other necessities around us. it’s sad how little almost every minimum wage worker makes especially with the amount of work we do
happybowlita83-22 points1y ago
Then why not try to.move up in the company to.make a higher wage?
sheep_heavenly15 points1y ago
Because then someone else is stuck making a low wage, unable to afford basic living expenses. It's not about escaping for yourself, it's also about not letting that kind of worker abuse continue.
hotcheetomamii8 points1y ago
couldn’t have said it better myself
hotcheetomamii9 points1y ago
that’s a joke right
happybowlita83-18 points1y ago
You'd still be a barista with just more or different responsibilities... leaving the actual barista positions open for college students that need flexible schedules, high school students that need to work, single parents that need flexible schedules and benefits, people looking to go to ASU to afford an education, etc...
violentfemme1713 points1y ago
That doesn’t even cover cost of living.
happybowlita83-4 points1y ago
How though? I'm in an expensive state where the minimum wage is already at 15, and the raises we got put us less than 10% over minimum wage I only work part time and my SO doesn't have a "high paying job" wage compares to that of an Amazon warehouse worker and we can pay a mortgage loan, utilities, a car payment, car insurance for 2, food, 3 pets, and a savings to last up to 6 months. we don't live frugally either and go out to eat often... I don't expect sbux to offer me a livable wage as a barista though, maybe as a ssv and obviously as a SM.
cats_with_tentacles8 points1y ago
I make 15 an hour currently and with hours being cut (from 35 to 20) I am currently bringing home about 1200 a month, give or take.
My rent is 1100.
I am currently working on moving up in the company, but unless you get to work full time hours its just not doable. I could get a new job, but then I would be starting all over at a new place and still only making the same amount, if not less.
happybowlita83-2 points1y ago
I'm sorry to hear you're going through a rough patch, hopefully things get better and you get the position soon! I honestly prepare for a cut in hours since it's been a yearly thing and it happens worse fot my spouse's field as well, right after my hours go up he gets laid off for about 2 months every year and it's difficult but we manage to put together a savings for those months.
oooortcloud6 points1y ago
“I don’t expect sbux to offer me a living wage as a barista”
That, right there. That’s the problem. Why shouldn’t a person be able to afford to pay their rent by working full-time as a Starbucks barista? Or as a grocery stock employee? Or a retail cashier? What is so low-value about these jobs, and the people who work them, that has society convinced that they don’t deserve to afford to pay rent and bills after working a full time job? Regardless of what it is?
happybowlita83-1 points1y ago
It's not of low value, it's just crazy to think that a job a high school student can get to enter the work field would offer them the opportunity to just drop out of high school instead because they can just afford to live on their own working 40 hrs a week at sbux even if it's their first job... hopefully that answers your question.
whatjever3 points1y ago
I day trade during the day so it doesn’t effect me but let’s say I didn’t.
I make $1.4k a month at Starbucks working 24 hours a week. In my time away from work, I’m also going to school and interning at a firm. Mortgage is $1,450/mo for a condo, $400/mo for my car and insurance, $200/mo for pet expenses (an ESA dog), and that doesn’t even cover groceries or my own leisure time.. and then our SM gets mad whenever our partners try and get more hours from others.
Not even kidding I think I’d be homeless if I didn’t day trade.
