It’s pretty easy to get hired so I’m not sure why you haven’t. Are you applying on the website to a specific location?

Yes I'm applying on the site, and have applied to 5 locations.. I'm not sure what to do to increase my chances..

What’s your availability? That’s most likely the reason.

What position are you applying for?

Starbucks always says “we’re hiring!” even when they aren’t, so go into the store and ask for the manager and bring a resume copy with like a sticky note saying what position you’re looking for and how you haven’t gotten a response. If the manager isn’t there, say “can you leave this (resume) on their desk for them?”

Yo don’t wanna work here trust me lol

When i first moved to my city, i applied to the many locations and i didn’t hear back from anybody. I’m assuming they weren’t hiring for the shifts I requested or they were just bad at reaching out to me.
Jump forward 6+ months later when i reapplied, i got interview opportunities and basically hired on the spot.
It just maybe they aren’t hiring for the shifts you are available. I wish you luck!

For me it took time for replies so i actually went into the store with my resume to talk to the hiring manager. I think that shows you're serious and i instantly got an interview.

i would actually give the store a call and ask them directly if they’re hiring

is it likely for a high school senior to get hired?

Certainly go in. Also, make sure you have realistically open availability. My SM is pretty open and he tends not to call people who only want to work 3 nights a week for 4 hour shifts (not saying this is you but that’s what frequently seen on applications).
Also make sure to highlight your skills. Just because this might be your first job doesn’t mean you don’t have skills! Do you enjoy meeting and conversing with people? That is good conversational skills and an outgoing personality! Are you a quieter person who prefers to just get tasks done? Then you are great at problem solving! Have you ever defused a stressful situation? Then you are good at conflict resolution! I would also recommend swing by the store at a not-busy time to ask a manager if they are hiring, then make it clear you will be submitting an application as soon as you get home. This way you can call and follow up in a couple days. This motivation speaks loads to a potential employer.
Also, when you swing by, make sure you are dressed in your best comfortably nice clothes. Don’t show up in a 3 piece suit but also don’t show up in an old t-shirt that hasn’t been washed since Obama was president. As someone who used to be the second in command at a restaurant, it was always weird when someone is seriously overdressed for an interview.
Hope this helps!

this is exactly why i just decided to work at a licensed store. it’s sooo much easier getting a job at a Target starbucks for example than a corporate store. you don’t have to beg management for these positions. also they tend to be less busy, less stressful and a lot more manageable from my experience compared to the stories i’ve read.

don’t do it it’s not worth it

You don’t want to work here, trust me! I’m honestly not sure why you wouldn’t get hired considering people quit so often.

I found when I was applying, that you had to pester the management at the stores you're applying at....submit your app, wait a couple of days, then call the store and ask for the manager. Just ask them if they had seen your application and what the status of it is, they usually try to schedule you an interview right then and there 👍🏻 At least that was my experience, getting hired, leaving, coming back, etc

Find a small coffee shop or go to dutch Bros

I know your struggle but I didn't have any jobs under my belt or experience so I understand why they wouldn't hire me. But when I did get jobs and similar experience they still didn't hire me. I applied to one inside a grocery story and within a day I got a call for an interview and scheduled training. Sometimes it seems luck and other times seems biased because they want works but don't want non-experienced employees but advocate that they train new people and non-experience.

If you have instagram keep an eye open for job fairs on the local sbux pages. Often there are very few people there and you get to interview immediately. This worked best for me as i had already put in an online application and got to talk about my qualifications in person.

Depends on the needs of the stores too. I know my store doesn’t have high turnover and my manager isn’t planning on hiring until the fall.
